Chapter 32—Ship

Klara's POV:

"So are you really gonna take Vin to New York? Or was that you just being high and mighty?"

I glanced at my sister, careful not to move as my stylist, Rebecca, curled my hair. "Yeah, I was serious about that," I easily answered, returning my gaze to the large mirror in front of me. Leah and I were currently sitting side by side in a dressing room, getting ready for the last few looks for our photo shoot with Vogue UK. "I've got everything ready, I just gotta book the hotel rooms once I find out if Vin's actually allowed to go."

Leah let out a small breath, eyes shut as her makeup artist, Della, applied some eye shadow to her lids. "I hope they do," she hummed, a smile playing on her red lips. "I wanna hear all about your adventures in the city."

I smirked as Rebecca twirled a lock of my hair around the curling wand. "What? You think I'm gonna corrupt him?" I couldn't help but tease good naturedly.

My sister rolled her now open eyes, my smirk widening as she retorted, "Shut up."

The conversation had to come to a halt as Leah and I were then whisked off to put on our outfit for this part of the shoot. We were led to the set, our makeup artists walking along with us to add finishing touches as their brushes grazed our skin. Once they finished, they scampered away as Leah and I got into position.

This part of the shoot was outdoors, in the grand garden of this mansion that was our location for this entire shoot, with Leah and I sitting on fancy looking garden chairs and posing next to stone statues. The whole shoot was a cover spread, and being able to do this with Vogue was always just as exciting as it was the first time almost a year and a half ago.

The last part of the shoot lasted about forty-five minutes, before Leah and I returned to our dressing room to rid of the makeup and clothes we were engulfed in. Once I was back in the comfort of my ripped white skinny jeans, Vans, and dark blue Snoopy T-shirt, I removed my makeup as much as I could, letting my hair stay in its curls as I waited for Leah to be ready.

"Why do you take longer than me to get ready? We were literally wearing the same shit," I told her as she emerged from the bathroom, grabbing her bag and following me out of the dressing room.

Leah smirked at me as we said goodbye and thank you's to the crew that helped out during the shoot, before exiting the building as she said to me, "Because I removed most of the makeup while you didn't even bother."

I chuckled quietly, knowing it was true. Marc and Lenny immediately came to our sides, their big bodies blocking the sudden influx of paparazzi that had been waiting outside for us. Despite wearing sunglasses, Leah and I automatically kept our heads down, feeling Marc and Lenny guide us towards the black SUV that was waiting, and my hand instinctively found Leah's as I grasped it tightly.
