Chapter 38—Reminiscing

Leah's POV:

"You have any plans after school today?" Dylan questioned, his legs resting on my lap as he leaned back in the wooden chair here in the library. I had a free period, and he was simply skipping gym and keeping me company as I read and outlines notes from my physics text book.

"Yeah," I answered, copying down a formula in my notebook as I spoke, "Mum's going to try on wedding dresses and Klara and I are going with her to try on our bridesmaids ones."

"That's fun," Dylan mused, a smile cracking on his lips as he flipped his phone around between his thumb and index finger. "Is your mum excited?"

I nodded, putting down my pen and leaning back in my seat as well, hands resting on his shins as I turned my head to the right to look at him. "Oh, yeah, completely," I informed, grinning at the thought of her. "They never had a wedding, so this is like a dream come true for her. I'm excited for them."

"It's cool," Dylan agreed, resting his phone on the table as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You and Klara get to be there at your parents wedding. The idea sounds sick."

"It is," I smiled, before it turned sly as I tapped his knee. "Plus, I'll have a super hot date, so that's a plus."

A smirk made its way onto Dylan's lips, sitting up at my words as he crossed his arms but leaned forward towards me, a quirk in his brow. "I was hoping you would," he admitted, his teeth grazing his lower lip as he looked at me. Oh, boy.

I grinned, left elbow propped up on the table as I rested my cheek against the palm of my hand. "Yeah—so do you think Roy Baker from our literature class would be down to go with me?" I innocently questioned, raising my eyebrow.

Instantly, Dylan's expression fell, completely bland as he leaned away from me, giggles escaping me at his reaction as he scoffed. "Not funny," he deadpanned, lifting his legs from my lap to rest his feet on the ground.

My giggles transformed into laughter, reaching for his hand as he stood up. I grabbed his left hand, standing up as well as I tried to stop him from leaving. "Aw, come on, I was just teasing!" I laughed, finding this way too amusing.

Dylan, God bless him, was literally pouting as he turned to look at me, shaking his head in disappointment. "You broke my heart, princess," he informed me, all the while his fingers intertwined with mine as he contradicted his words.

I merely smiled up at him, head tilting to the side. "Let me fix it, yeah?" I said, before having to get on my tiptoes to press my lips on his, eyes shutting as he immediately responded.

The smile on his lips was instantly felt against mine, his one hand still gripping mine while the other wrapped around my waist to pull me closer. Thankfully we were towards the back of the library, hidden by anyone else that was here, as Dylan's lips moved fervently against my own and my free hand went to grasp the back of his neck, pulling him closer than possible.

I exhaled sharply through my nose, feeling myself practically tingle all over at Dylan's touch, before pulling away a few moments later in order to breathe. Dylan grinned a boyish smile, his hand coming up to tuck a few locks of my hair behind my ear as he mused, "Never get tired of doing that."
