Chapter 10 – Boyfriend's Jacket
Leah’s POV:
From: Twinny
Something came up, Leah! I’ll explain later!! Can u get a ride from someone? Love you! Sorry!
I let out a groan as I read my sister’s text, looking around the crowded house in search of my sister. But people were drinking and dancing and jumping, making it impossible for me to find my twin. “Goddammit, Klara,” I muttered under my breath, shoving my phone in my pocket before pushing my way through everyone.
I had lost Vin a while ago, and I couldn’t seem to find any other of my friends, either, which really sucked. I felt cramped and congested and I needed to get out of here. I’d more than happily take Klara’s car, but she had the keys so that was a no. Who the hell was I supposed to get a ride from if I couldn’t find any of my friends?
As I made my way through, I realized that people whom I didn’t recognize—seemed like they didn’t go to my school—had their phones out and were so blatantly and obviously taking pictures of me. That just made my discomfort grow, even though I was kind of used to having people take pictures of me. But these were my peers at a party that a kid from my school threw—I felt all kinds of uncomfortable at this point.
My eyes landed on a girl exiting what looked like a bathroom, and I quickly made a B-line in the direction of it. Reaching the white tiled room, I hurriedly stepped inside and locked the door behind me, letting out a sigh of relief as I leaned behind the closed door. It vibrated with the beat of the fast paced song currently booming throughout the house, but right now, being in this confined bathroom that smelled of alcohol and vomit was the only peace I was receiving.
I ran a hand through my hair, releasing a breath as I pulled out my phone. The time read back was 9:47, and I let out another huff. No way were any of my friends going to want to leave the party this early. “Crap,” I muttered before unlocking the door and exiting the bathroom, getting back into the pumping atmosphere of the party.
Wincing at the bodies rubbing up against me, I began pushing my way through as I tried to find my way towards the front door. When I found the stairs, I began making my downstairs to where it led to the living room—where what looked like a thousand teenagers were still drinking and grinding. Ugh.
When my eyes found the front door over the heads of my wasted peers, I let out a sigh of relief and began making my way over to it. I can probably just call a taxi or something to take me home—there was no way I was walking all the way back to my house.
“Leaving so soon?”
Even above the loud noise of music and drunken cheers of everyone, I could still hear the deep voice perfectly and clearly, which made me freeze in my steps in the middle of the small hallway. Turning around, I bit on the tip of my tongue as my eyes landed on the guy leaning against the wall.
Unfortunately for me, the owner of the voice was Dylan freaking Tanner, who was leaning against the wall in a pair of light blue, a white V-neck, and a light brown leather jacket on top. His brown hair sat messily atop his head, looking quite cute, and his blue eyes looked lively; unlike his appearance.
