Chapter 14—Rave

Leah’s POV:

“Seriously? Come on, Leah, it’ll be so much fun!”

I huffed, shooting Riker a look as I took a bite out of the licorice I was eating. “Going to a rave is just asking for trouble.”

My brown haired friend groaned loudly, causing me to smirk and Talia to giggle at his pouty face. We were currently sitting in my living room, with me lying on the big couch and legs resting on Riker’s lap while Talia was lying on the floor with her phone in her hands. “But it’ll be fun,” he whined from where he sat next to me.

“What’ll be fun?” Klara asked as she entered the living room, raising her eyebrows as she put a Lays chip in her mouth, her other hand carrying the bag.

“The rave that everyone but Leah’s going to,” Riker exclaimed, giving Klara a look. “Come on, K, please convince her to come!”

My twin looked at me, her perfectly done eyebrows shooting up. “You’re not going to the rave? What? Why? Are you stupid?”

I shot her an annoyed glare. “No, I’m not stupid,” I defended with a scoff. “I’m actually smart because I don’t want to a loud-ass party where there’s nothing but drunk teenagers and a shit ton of alcohol.”

Everyone was silent for a few moments before Klara snorted. “Yeah, you’re definitely stupid.” I frowned at her as she walked over to me, sitting down on the table in front of us. “Come on, Lee—Dylan’s gonna be there,” she added, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

Despite the warmth spreading on my cheeks, I pursed my lips as I twirled the licorice piece between my fingers. “So? How does that concern me?” I asked as casually as I could manage.

“She’s blushing!” Talia yelled, sitting up as she pointed at me accusingly.

My eyes widened. “No, I’m not!” I denied.

Riker moved closer to me before a grin spread on his face. “You so are blushing,” he laughed. “Aw, does little Leah have a little crush on the new guy?” he pouted, poking my cheek with his finger.

I slapped his hand away, shooting him a glare. “Shut up,” I said.

Klara rolled her eyes, a smirk on her face. “You’re coming to the rave, Leah, whether you like it or not. Come on, it’s our last weekend without Mum and Dad—it’ll be fucking awesome.”

I let out a groan, throwing my head back, taking another bite out of my licorice. “You know what? Fine, I’ll go,” I relented. “But if I do something stupid, I’m going to blame every single one of you,” I added, pointedly glaring at both of my friends and sister.

          They all grinned widely. “Deal.”

*~*~*~*

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

I stared at my full length reflection in absolute horror, not believing what was staring back at me. The outfit—it couldn’t even be classified as an actual outfit—was definitely not something I would ever wear in my life. Maybe for a photo shoot, yeah, but definitely not to go out to a damn party.
