Pour out some liquor and I reminisce, cause through the drama
I can always depend on my mama
And when it seems that I'm hopeless
You say the words that can get me back in focus
When I was sick as a little kid
To keep me happy there's no limit to the things you did
And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act crazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me
I wish I could take the pain away
If you can make it through the night there's a brighter day
Everything will be alright if ya hold on
It's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
Dear mama
Don't you know I love you?
Dear mama
Place no one above you
Oh mama, I appreciate you
Although my shadow's gone
I will never leave you
: Dear Mama by Tupac

                Kyren P.O.V.

"Hey mama," I said nervously. She stared at me a long time. I knew this was a bad idea. I rubbed the back of my neck. Melanie looked between us.

"Aunty Lyric I'm going to get settled in," she said. She nodded in response as Melanie headed upstairs.

"Kyren," she said. For a moment I thought she would give me a long-drawn out speech about how I was a bad example. About how stupid I was. About how she didn't know where she went wrong and kick me out. But instead she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "say it again." So I did.

"Mama," I said. She pulled me into a hug and cried onto my shoulder. I squeezed her tight. Its been too long since I hugged my mama.

"I love you Kyren," she cried.

"I love you mama," I whispered kissing her cheek.

"I want a hug!" Kinsley yelled running to me. He jumped and luckily I caught his heavy ass.

"Hey man," I smiled. He hugged my neck and kissed my cheek.

"Kyren's here!" Kadyn yelled running in from the doorway. I smiled leaning down so I could pick him up too. He kissed my other cheek while I held them.

"Yooo, y'all lil asses heavy," I laughed.

"Kyren don't swear," Lyric. No my mama patted my cheek.

"Where! Where!" Kyan ran in. "KJ!" She yelled pulling Kadyn and Kingsley out of my arms. She wrapped her arms around me and I picked her spinning her around in my arms.

"Hey my favorite girl," I smiled.

My mama gasped. "I'm offended," she teased.

"You're my favorite lady," I kissed her cheek.

King stood in the doorway watching us. Lyric noticed it. And so did Lil King. "Umm. You guys why don't we go upstairs?" Lil King asked.

Mama turned to me. "You don't have to talk to him if you don't want to. I know it might take some time," she started.

"I want to," I shrugged. She nodded as she pulled Kadyn and Kingsley upstairs. Lil King and Kyan eased into the kitchen. King stared at me.

"Wassup daddy? You wanna play 2k?" I asked.

"Sure," he shrugged. He hooked up the game and we started playing.
