Waking up,half past five
Blood on pillow, one bruised eye
Drunk too much, you know what I'm like
But you should've seen the other guy
This ain't the right time for you to fall in love with me
Baby I'm just being honest
And I know my lies can never make you believe
Runnning in circles
That's why
In my dark times, I'll be going back to these streets
Promising everything I do not need
In my dark time
Baby this is all I could be
If only my mother could love me for me
: Dark Times by The Weekend and Ed Sheeran

"I can't buy your love. Don't even wanna try. Sometimes the truth won't make you happy, still I'm not gonna lie. But don't every question if my heart beats only for you. It beats only for you. I know I'm far from perfect. Nothing like your entourage. I can't grant you any wishes. I won't promise you the stars. But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you. It beats only for you. Cause when you've given up. When no matter what you do is ever good enough. When you never thought that it could ever get this tough. That's when you feel my kind of love. And when you're crying out. When you fall and then can't pick your heavy off the ground. When the friends you thought you haddd never stuck around. That's when you feel my kind of love," I sang swiping my fingers fluently across the piano keys.

I finished the song and the audience applauded me. I felt proud to a certain extent. But here I was in a place full of strangers singing my pain out. Pain that I caused. I need to make things right, but I don't know if I can.

I stood up and exited the building. "Aye ain't that's King son?" I heard somebody ask. I pulled my hood over my head and started walking.

"Aye pussy where you going?" A dude called. I kept walking until somebody grabbed me. I turned to be met with a fist to my stomach. That didn't even phase me. I punched him in his face. He stumbled back and I hit him again. Then I felt somebody hit the back of my head. I was being jumped, but you know I whupped ass before all five of them finally got me on the ground. Then one pulled a gun out.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't," he pointed it at me.

"Yoo Gerod chill," one of them grabbed his arm.

"Nah, his bitch ass daddy disrespected my mama. Now he gotta pay the price," the dude snapped.

"Do it bitch!" I spat blood at him. He looked at me with his hand on the trigger.

"Yo Gerod, we gotta go," a different dude pulled him.

"You gone pay bitch!" He snapped pulling the trigger. But it jammed. He tried again. I stumbled to my feet and knocked the gun out of his hand. I punched him in his face one more time. The other dudes stared at me.

I began to stumble off. My side hurt. I know my face was bruised. I managed to make it to my apartment. Damn I didn't have my key. I sighed. I don't have anywhere to go, but home. Suddenly the door opened.
