Chapter 11

   "(Y/n)? What are you doing at this time...?" He yawned, and searched for his glasses.
Your body lurched in nervousness, and you almost dropped the journal.
   "Your book...it seems very interesting," you said, and handed it back to him.
   "My journal? Yes. All my findings in this town," he yawned once more. "...and where is my glasses? I always seem to be losing them at the wrongest of times..."
   "They're over here, Ford. But I really think you should be getting some sleep. Looks like you've been awake for days on end..." You looked closely at his face, and large dark bags formed under his eyes and a growing stubble now forming.
   He waved his hand at you, and shut his eyes as he got up from the couch that he was sleeping on. "Nah. I need more info on the slime...none of my anomaly books have anything on it. Very strange, I say..." He swayed over to his large desk and you stopped him halfway, your fingernails getting caught on some of the fabric of his coat. He looked down upon you tiredly without saying anything.
   "We can do it tomorrow. You need your rest." You pushed him back down into the couch. You really didn't want a paranormal partner sleeping all day now.
He let out a low chuckle before submitting. "Since when did you become my ma?" He sunk into the couch and pulled up the blanket on top of his usual clothes.
   "I never did," you said quietly while turning the lamp off. "Goodnight, Ford." You smiled and walked out of the room.
   "Goodnight, (y/n)."
And within a couple of seconds, the silence was filled with the sounds of his snoring.
You smiled as you climbed the stairs to your room, and your heart fluttered. You were glad to have Ford as your investigating partner. He or she could have been a jerk, or something worse.
Now, you were finally glad you came to Gravity Falls.

(( I swear this is the shortest chapter. I needed to cut it off at the right moment to make the next chapter work out fine. ^^))
