At the bus stop it was fairly quiet, and you took in the sounds of the birds singing their songs and the trees rustling from the warm breeze. It had the same sounds as you entered Gravity Falls, which only felt like a few days ago you had arrived. With a quick breath, you heard a slight rumble in the distance, and you instantly knew it was the bus. When it came to a halt, you got on and sat down by a window.
When the bus started, you craned your head around to see who was on the bus. There wasn't a lot of people. Only a person who looked younger than you reading a book, another writing in a small journal, and a couple sitting there, hands intertwined. You frowned and looked out the window. The couple only reminded you of Ford, and you would feel even worse. Grumbling to yourself, you'd rest your head against the window and shut your eyelids....
You unlocked the door to your house, and stepped in, pulling air into your lungs. Your home scent feels unfamiliar to you at first, but after a couple of minutes you start to get used to it. You then drop your luggage onto your bed and walk into the kitchen to call your mom. Pulling the phone off the handle, you dial your mother. It rings, and as usual, she picks up in an instant.
"Hello? (Y/n)...?"
"Hey." You speak into the phone lowly.
"Why are you home? Aren't you with Stan-"
"No. I'm back home now..." You rubbed one side of your temple overwhelmingly.
"What? Why?" She asked anxiously into the phone, tone getting louder.
You paused, thinking of what to say to your mother. Without thinking clearly, you'd hesitate. "Stanford already finished his studies. He doesn't need me anymore." And it wasn't a lie.
"You sound a bit...sad. Is there something else going on, (y/n)? Do you want me to come over?" You could feel her knitting her brows together now.
"No, mom! I'm fine. Just overwhelmed with everything...you don't need to visit me." You retort back quickly.
She's quiet on the other end for a moment. "Alright, then. Just give me a call back when you need me, okay?"
"Yeah. Alright." You say and you could hear her hanging the phone up. But you didn't hang the phone up just yet. You just held it to your ear lightly, and you could hear the faint beeping noises coming from it. "How long is it going to take to get over this man?" You asked out aloud to yourself and set the phone back on the handle slowly. You went to your bedroom, pulled out your unsolved cryptograms and tried to solve them, using Ford's method....
A few days have passed, and you haven't been getting along well. You've stayed inside the house, never going out to get some fresh air. You only stayed in your small bedroom, huddled at your desk solving cryptograms. You whipped through each one without difficulty. You figured when you were done, you'd send them to the nearest museum. That's what you've always dreamed of when you were younger. Maybe it would take your mind off of Stanford, but you weren't too sure. You thought to yourself, and before you could set the pencil back down on the paper, you heard a knock on the door.
You suddenly felt your heartbeat in your neck, and you growled. You assumed it was your mom. "Always has to scare me with those sudden knocks," you mumbled to yourself as you headed to the door. You took a peek through the peep-hole, and you saw the one and only Stanford Pines. You sunk away from the door, breathing heavily. Did I just hallucinate? you thought before creeping back up to the door to look again. Yep. Still there. His eyebrows were lowered and he fiddled around with his hands nervously. He then started to knock again.
A part of you wanted to open the door and land in his arms, and another part of you wanted to open the door and greet him with a slap across the face. Either way, you were still going to open the door. With slight hesitation and knotting stomach, you opened the door slowly. Stanford's eyes widened as they met your own (e/c) eyes. "How did you-" Stanford's lips smashed onto yours suddenly, cutting you off. You attempted to push him off angrily, but instead you sunk into the kiss. It seemed as if it went on forever until he pulled away.
"(Y/n), I'm so sorry...I should have never said that nor should I have ever sent you home. It was the biggest mistake I've ever made," he spoke quickly, caressing your cheek with one hand. His smile turned into a faint frown, as if he was beating himself up for what he had just done. "I love you,
(y/n). I won't let Bill come between us." he whispered.
You just couldn't stay mad at the man. Your heart fluttered as he said those next words, and you planted another kiss on his lips. "I love you, too, Fordsie. He won't ever." He smiled, and you both stood there, looking at eachother with loving eyes for just a moment. "I just have to ask a question...how did you find me?" You squinted at him.
"It took me awhile to get ahold of your mother. She told me your address." He grinned before picking you up in a bridal style and walked out of the door. You chuckled quietly. "Now, are you ready to study the abnormalities of Gravity Falls once again with me?"
"Of course, Stanford Pines. I love too." He laughed, and kissed your forehead lightly. "Oh, wait! What about my house?" You thought for a quick second. "Eh. Ill ask my mom later if she can look over it for me."
And with that, the both of you were smiling and laughing all the way to the bus stop.THE END
