Chapter 26: And so the tale begins...

((This chapter is going to be in third person. 'She' is you. The rest is the same.))

"One second, Ford. I want to see if I can call my mom," she called out to Ford, while they were both heading separate ways. Ford to the diner, and (y/n) to the payphone. "go ahead without me!" She finished, and disappeared within some of the large trees. Ford stuffed his hands into the pockets of his trench coat, and let out a puff of air whilst heading to Greasy's Diner. For some reason he was nervous. Nervous to be with (y/n). He didn't know why exactly, so he blocked out his feelings. He didn't even know what to feel at the moment, and it was frustrating him. He peered over his shoulder in the direction of the payphone, and then back to the diner's door. Ford's hand reached for the handle, but before he could turn it a 'psst' caught his attention. His eyes shot over to the right where the forest was. It was getting darker and darker every second.
Hm, he thought. Must of been my mind playing tricks on me.
And before he could reach for the handle again, there was a loud cackle coming from within the forest on the right. He could've sworn he knew that laugh from the moment he heard it.
Ford wanted to run and get (y/n), but it was too late. As Ford ran towards the payphone, he suddenly blacked out.

Ford awoke in a deeper part of the forest, laying on his back against the cold ground. He let out a grunt and rubbed his forehead before looking to see his surroundings. He didn't know this part of the forest...or did he? It was too dark to know.
He got up and to his eyes was Bill Cipher. His large triangle figure in front of Ford's body, long stick arms dangling just below his eye.
   He let out another cackle. "Hey, how's it goin', Fordsie?"
   Ford's fists clenched together. "What's the meaning of this, Bill? What do you want from me?"
   Bill circled around Ford and stopped just behind him, hand turning to blue flame. "I just need a body for the moment. For a situation..."
   Ford backed up, frowning. A body? What for? "No way!" He yelled at the triangle.
   Bill straightened his bow and stuck his index finger in the air. "Uh, let me rephrase that...let me use your body or else I'll be killing the one you love most."
   Ford crossed his arms. "And who would that be?"
   "Oh, you didn't think I'd know? (Y/n), of course! I can read minds...read feelings." Bill floated right up to Ford, his figure reducing into a smaller size. He rested a thin arm on his shoulder.
   Ford's eyes widened. Who was he kidding? Bill knows everything. "Of course I'd feel for her! She's my investigating partner!"
   "There isn't more to that, Fordsie?"
Ford stayed silent, staring off into one direction of the forest. Bill laughed again, and poked Ford in the cheek. "Pfft. Did you actually think (y/n)'d like you? A six-fingered nerd?"

Ford opened his mouth, but no words had come out. Bill was right. She couldn't like...a guy like him. What happened in the bunker was only a moment...not feelings. Well, maybe for Ford it was.
But he had no choice.
   Ford let out a sigh, and turned away from Bill. "You may use my body. Only if you keep (y/n) safe."
   Bill's hand ignited into a blue flame once again, and he lent out his hand to Ford. "It's a deal!"
And without hesitation, Ford shook Bill's hand, and Ford fell to the ground.
He soon got up, eyes lighting up the dark forest.
Ford's spirit floated just above the ground, and he frowned. Ford, or in other words, Bill, let out another laugh. "(Y/n) is going to be mine now!"
   Ford's jaw was agape. "What?! That's what you needed my body for?! Why you little-"
   "I would never hurt that precious flower. Now, I've got to run...have to steal some hearts," he laughed as he started to run through the forest and back to Ford's unfinished house. The laughing had slowly faded amongst the trees while Ford's spirit sat there.
   "What have I done...?" He whispered to himself.
