Chapter 30

You laid in the grasses, the tall strands licking at your face. Through the thick grass, and from where Bill was floating, only your (h/c) hair was showing. Everything else was hidden...including the anger on your face.

You watched as the demon floated calmly in one spot, hands held behind his back whilst he awaited an answer to escape your throat. His one eye held passion, but yet held nightmares and anything that would make you shiver.
   "What's with ya? Demon got your tongue?" His eyelid lowered in annoyance by your staring.
You shook your head to break free from your thoughts.
   "Oh-! Of course...very interesting," you replied quietly, which was magnified by the quietness of the open space in Ford's mind. Your voice echoed around the area, including Bill's.

You desperately needed something. Something that could...defeat Bill. A mallet of some kind? Maybe to knock him-
You stopped to look down at your hands, and suddenly, there was a small mallet lodged in between your fingers. You were astonished. But then, you had a quick thought when you looked back up at Bill, not to make it obvious something you were thinking of could magically appear in one's hands.
   "Good, good..." He seemed to think for a moment. "How did you even get in here, and why would you want to, anyway?" Bill floated up even closer, and you flattened even more against the tall grass. Luckily, the mallet that you held matched the field's colour.

   You started to think as well, both for what to do with the mallet, and what to say back to Bill. "Since you were asleep and trying to rest his body, I didn't want to wake you. So, I decided to look through one of Ford's journals to find an incantation on how to enter a possessed mind..." You paused for the moment. "and it actually worked. I needed to speak to you urgently." You made the whole thing up, hoping it made at least a little sense. Please make the mallet go away, you thought. Please.

You did not want to get caught with a mallet, or some sort of item that looked like a weapon to Bill. Then who knows what he'd do to you? And when you looked down, it was only your bare hands. No mallet, no nothing. It was very odd. You cocked a brow before it dawned on you.
   "Well, go on," he spoke with a deeper tone, and he looked away. "but before you do that, let me switch into a more comfortable body in this realm. There was a flash of blue and white, and before your eyes was a man. He had very fair skin, a lanky body whilst having short blonde hair. He even wore a black collared shirt with a yellow vest on, along with black dress pants and shoes. His top hat still hovered just above his head. He stared back at you now with light yellow eyes, but for pupils it was slits. This gave you more of a shiver, and your lower jaw dropped the slightest, but at least you knew what you were doing now. Maybe since it was the mind realm, you could think of whatever you want and it'd come to you. You had nothing to lose now. "Do you like it?" He gave a toothy grin, eyes widening.
   You got up from your laying spot, and walked over to him with heavy steps. You tilted your head to look up at his face. He was very tall. Never mind your thoughts...the plan was in motion now. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and gave him a grin back. "I absolutely love it." You tugged on the collar of his shirt, and it earned a chuckle from him. "anywho, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. For being stubborn. You frightened me at first, but that drew me away from who you really are. I didn't know you well, but I want to get to know you now." What he really is is a power hungry demon who wants everything, and eventually gets it.

Now was your chance. You thought of a sharp dagger, and after a few moments it wouldn't appear. You grew nervous. Bill stared down at your face which was centimetres away, and his grin faded.
   His eyes glowed a brighter, more vivid yellow than ever. "You're lying." His voice boomed, and right after he said that, the dagger appeared in your left hand. Without hesitation, you slammed the dagger into his back from behind, and Bill let out a choke.
