You were at a desk once again. Well, Ford's desk. The top covered in large sheets of paper with different numbers, shapes. Anything.
Cryptograms. You could've sworn it was your enemy now. It was taking to long to figure out which codes to use. Maybe it was right under you nose and you didn't know. It can could've been real obvious.
But then, you started to think about Bill Cipher. Could he really help me? You thought for a moment while crumpling up one of the large papers in front of you and throwing it into the small garbage can under his desk. Of course not. Ford told me not to trust him! Before you could put your face into the palms of your hands and grunt, a voice chimed in.
"What was that?" Ford asked as he stood behind you, and you were unaware of that.
"Oh...another sheet of indecipherable cryptograms," you sighed while he grabbed a nearby chair and sat beside you. He slowly ducked under the desk and pulled out the crumpled paper out, flattening it out.
You watched him as his dark eyes searched the paper, his pupils zig-zagging left and right quickly.
"That's the A12Z6 Cipher." He gave a brief grin and you were shocked.
You grabbed the paper out of his hand as he watched your reaction. Smug, he was.
"What?! How did you know that?"How come I never got that?!
Ford chuckled and his eyes averted towards the lamp light and back to you. "I have been working with Ciphers for awhile, now. Using it in my Journal, that is." His hand reached into the side of his coat, as if he were to grab it.
Your jaw was agape, and you were speechless. You put the creased-filled paper down onto the large desk. "Then why didn't you tell me that before?" You then thought about the last time you spoke to Ford about Bill Cipher, and first telling him about you solving your cryptograms.
"Because...I wanted to see if you were able to solve it eventually on your own." He shifted his body uncomfortably in the wooden chair he sat in. You only let out a hum, and started biting the skin around your index finger. You stared at the black ink of the cryptograms on the paper. You never thought of the A12Z6 Cipher.
Ford pulled out his book fully and handed it to you. "You may read through it," he said. "find the ciphers. See if you can decipher them before you do it to your cryptograms so you have practice."
You took it gently, held it in your hands for a minute and smiled at him. "Thanks, Ford."
"No problem-" he was about to say, but got cut off by you.
"Can you tell me about Bill Cipher now?" You sounded like a student speaking to a teacher who eagerly wanted to know answers. And you did want to know the answer of that one.
He sighed and sunk into the chair. His eyes rolled upwards to the ceiling. "It's a long story..."
