It's backkkkkk. OwO))

You spun the pencil between your thumb and index finger, trying to complete Ford's cryptograms in his journal.
He had given you a note earlier on the A1z26 Cipher and all the numbers you would need to use to decode. It was challenging at first, but you soon got the hang of it. Eyes shifting over to the small sheet and back to your larger piece of paper, you'd write down the cryptograms.
You bit the metallic end of the pencil, and a bitter taste bursts on the end of your tongue. "Interesting," you said out aloud, and the back of your tongue brushed the roof of your mouth to rid the flavour.
But every now and then, you'd stare up at the ceiling in Ford's room and think about the recent events that happened in the bunker. You'd smile at the thought, and wheel around on the chair to get a better look from the door to exit the room.
You only peeked your head out, and the bright sun would blind your eyes and leave spots all over your vision.

Sunset? Already?

The day had went by fast, and you let out a puff of air. But you soon had to hold in a breath, for your vision was starting to clear. You saw Ford sitting on the table in the kitchen, staring out the window while drinking a glass of water.
He looked so peaceful, you thought. And the orange haze gave the house a nice warm feel. It reminded you of your house.
One thing was puzzling you though...why wasn't Ford mentioning what had happened? He wouldn't bring up the shapeshifter, about you giving back the journal, nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

You shook your head and gave a lopsided frown when he looked down from the window and back at his glass. His eyelids looked heavy, as if they were to collapse any second over his eyes. He picked up the empty glass and started looking at it, and you slid back to his desk, sighing quietly.
Maybe he's just tired? you wondered. Or maybe he regrets dancing with me? you shook your head again lightly. He couldn't. He's not that kind of person...
Your eyes flickered back to the door, which had the orange light shining through. Small lint floated in the air and eventually into darkness, where it cannot be seen.

That's it!

Your hands were now fists on the desk, and your teeth were clenched tightly. You needed to break the silence, because if you didn't, nobody would.
You arose to your feet, and walked to the door. Ford's head jolted up to you quickly, but he didn't say anything. You wanted to be confident in the way you were standing, but your muscles went limp and your knees shook the slightest. Thank goodness it wasn't that noticeable. "Hey, Ford...I heard there was a diner around here? Would you possibly like to get a snack with me?" Your voice cracked and stuttered. You didn't expect yourself to act like this around him, but now that you were in love with your investigating partner, it changes everything. You couldn't deny your feelings anymore...
