"Can I stay for another week? Let's go home together."

"Your things are ready, Jelly. Don't worry I'll see you next week."

"Yes, but you're going to leave me again after a week."

Eunice put my jacket on my shoulder and said impatiently,
"Mom and Dad are expecting you to be home today. And by the way, aren't you excited, your cousins are coming over for a week?"

"I am! And they're your cousins too, but it would be more exciting if you're there, and I have noone to clinch on if they fuss on me."

"Hey, miss! You said you are no longer a kid, how come you are acting like one? It's time for you to grow up and mature."

"What if I take summer class?"

"Huh? We discussed about that already. Please rise, I'm sure our ride is ready."

I frowned and dragged my bag. I said goodbye to my roommates.

Just right on time the bus arrived. I got the front seat. Good thing, my classmate in Biology, Jane was also going home. She smiled and asked if she could sit beside me. I smiled at her and said yes.

My sister waved her hand, saying, "Take care, my Jelly fish!" She blew with a kiss and went back to our dorm.

Waiting for more passengers to fill the other seats, Jane asked,

"You're going home alone?"

"Yes," I replied looking at her wrinkled blouse.

The travel was not really boring. Jane and I had talked a lot of things. Her family, my family, and other not-so-nonesense things.

When I reached home, mom and dad greeted me at the door. It felt good to be home, but something was missing. I already missed my sister and.... my Michael. Why did I think of that? "Yours truly" on his letter implies that he is mine. Yes, he is mine..he is my friend, a very special friend.

I began to unpack my things, wishing summer would be over, so I could go back to school, hoping to see my Michael.

I was bored at home. I did help mom in doing the chores, but most of the time I was home alone during daytime. I spent my time reading books, watching DVDs, and doing some gardening.

I had few friends in the neighborhood, but I preferred to stay in my room and do some stuff like coloring books and cross-stitching. There were times when my highschool friends would visit me in the house and we had endless chat.

My sister arrived, and that whole week we had fun spending time together. We both love malling and going to bookstores, where books are on sale. Sometimes we do some experiments in the kitchen. A day with my sister was always exciting.
We, with mom and dad, and some relatives, had spent time also going to the beach.

But time was over; she needed to go back for summer class. The following weeks became routine.
Boring, yet as the days went by, the excitement increases. With hopes, I knew the coming school year would be colorful.

Would I see him during the enrollment time? What if he could not make it again this time? What if he needs to work for his family again?

I tried my best to refrain from those negative thoughts. So I lifted my heart to heaven:

"Lord, you provide well for the birds in the sky. And You have been a good provider for my family. I know you will also cater to the needs of my Michael and his family."

With hopeful spirit, I always
believe that everyone has a treasure waiting for him. I found friendship already. What's coming next? Could it be love?
