Kyungsoo is lounging on the couch as he watches his favorite cartoon, Adventure Time, when the doorbell rings. His ears curl above his black hair as he jumps, tail wagging fast in excitement at the thoughts of Jongin coming home.

Jongin has been gone ever since this morning for work, so Kyungsoo was left alone inside their apartment doing household chores his owner has taught him to do. It's already a routine. He would wash the dishes, do the laundry, mop the floor, buy groceries, and cook dinner before his owner comes home. That is his payment for staying at Jongin's house as his pet hybrid, and Kyungsoo is more than happy to serve his owner.

"Kyungsoo?" Jongin calls from the outside. "Kyungsoo, can you open the door for me?"

Oh, he must be carrying stuff, Kyungsoo thinks to himself as he scurries towards the door, opening it.

"Welcome home, master!"

Kyungsoo smiles brightly at his owner who is carrying a huge rectangular box. Beaming back at him, Jongin toes off his boots on the floor as well as his coat. Kyungsoo quickly picks them up, putting them back in the rack.

"How was your day, master?" Kyungsoo asks kindly, skipping on his feet. Jongin places the box beside the indoor plant as he sighs in exhaustion. He sighs, patting his puppy's head that has Kyungsoo purring cutely.

"Well, it was good. My boss praised me because I've done well on my job, and he even gave me a present. Here, in this very big box."

"Oh, a present," Kyungsoo says, wide eyes shining behind his fringe. The box is as big as their refrigerator, so Kyungsoo wonders if they now have a new one. "What is it, master? Can I see it?"

Jongin chuckles softly and shakes his head. "How many times do I have to tell you to just call me by my name?"

Kyungsoo blushes. "But master--"

"No buts, Kyungsoo. We've talked about this before, haven't we? I'm not your master anymore, I'm your friend and family so you can call me comfortably just by my name," Jongin says. "Is that okay?"

The puppy boy nods slowly as he bites his lower lip. "Y-yes, uhm, Jongin."

"Good," the owner says as he watches in amusement his puppy's ears flopping down against his head. He does it whenever he's flustered, and that makes Jongin dote on Kyungsoo more.

"So, do you want to see what's inside this box?"

An enthusiastic nod is Kyungsoo's response, and he's watching Jongin unboxing the big present. It is covered with yellow wrapper that Jongin manages to easily remove. Opening the lid of the box, Kyungsoo peeks his curious eyes inside it.

He blinks.

"Jongin, w-who is he?"

Jongin smiles, and opens the box fully, letting the light shine on the sleeping kitten boy on the pillow inside the box. He has a pair of small droopy gray eyes, thin pink lips and a cute button nose, making his face look innocent and young. He has a fair white skin while his hair is black too, just like Kyungsoo.
