Dating The Baekhyun isn't like dating girls in high school, Chanyeol decides.
He doesn't have to pull out efforts giving bouquets of red roses with a box of chocolates every White Day. He doesn't have to secretly borrow his Dad's car to pick his girlfriend up before they head to the movies or to a romantic restaurant. He doesn't need to stay up late texting on his phone, typing the same sweet conversations like what he did with every other girls he has dated before.
Because dating The Baekhyun is different. Dating The Baekhyun is natural, but extraordinary.
They've been seeing each other for three months now after he asked Baekhyun out with the very help of Sehun, thank you very much. Those three months are still short, compared to the relationships Chanyeol have had in the past, but he can say that those three months are the best so far. Perfect, even.
Why? Because he's simply with Baekhyun, and dating The Baekhyun won't last only for three months, but will last for three months and still counting.
Chanyeol can still remember their first date.
It was on the roof when he was trying to fix the shingles. Baekhyun climbed up wearing a traveling bag, telling Chanyeol they should eat there because it was more fun. He had a thermos inside his bag, a single burner, two bowls of black bean noodles, and a monopad for picture taking. He looked like he was going out on a camping like a boy scout. But nonetheless, they happily ate the noodles together on top of the roof, as they laughed about their neighbor's broken antenna. After that, they simply laid down next to each other with their hands under their heads, looking at the orange afternoon sky while they talked about girls. Girls, specifically their mothers and Chanyeol's sister.
Chanyeol was happy that night he forgot to brush his teeth before he sleep.
He can also remember their first fight.
Both of them were physically tired and emotionally drained out from their dance rehearsal. Chanyeol let out words he shouldn't have said as he told Baekhyun to get lost and leave him alone when he injured his foot. He had made a wrong twist, tripping to a cable wire on the floor. He didn't want to look ridiculous in front of Baekhyun, so he just burst out and yelled at him when the latter worriedly came to him, asking him if he was okay. He was such a jerk back then for hurting Baekhyun's feelings.
They didn't talk for five agonizing days straight until he couldn't take it anymore. He heartily apologized to the shorter male by giving him a big bag of cheetos and singing to him a sappy love song he wrote with the help of Sehun and Jongin:
