Chained to the path of elevation,
purposely going into a harder situation,
and in my failures and victories,
I find the greatest adventure stories,
sometimes I'm tempted to take the easy road,
and take on a much lighter load,
but then my pride won't let me,
so I'm shackled though I'm free,
I refuse to fall into complacency,
so I'll chain myself to a higher destiny,
people around believe in my strength,
though I get discouraged at the length,
I have to go but my weaknesses become my tools,
and caution me from joining fools,
and at that ended of this long journey I've tackled,
I'll be so glad I stayed shackled.
