I had soup today...
watched the clouds saunter across the morning sky,
listened softly to an infant cry,
and convinced myself you were doing okay.
I had soup today...
felt the gentle wind and smiled at nothing,
maybe it was just the memory of the times we spent laughing,
and convinced myself I was doing okay.
I had soup today...
it was a little burnt and my tongue paid the price,
you remember I wasn't a good cook but it was nice,
and convinced me that we are still the same today.
