(By the way Kira is pronounced as Ky-ra. The "i" is long, not kee-ra)
I woke up shivering and sobbing noises. My teeth were literally clicking together. I looked at Vinny and Kira. They didn't feel a thing nor were they crying. I could barley move, so I decided to stay still. I forced my eyes to look over at Lancer. My eyes widened as I covered my mouth with my hand. He had his back to me as he was sobbing.
All around him was ice. I coughed as softly as I could, not wanting to get his attention. No wonder I was cold, I was closest to him. Even my sleeping bag had some frost and snow on it. But what's up with this snow? We aren't in December or anything, and it couldn't have rained on one spot.
My teeth clatter even more as an ice cold breeze brushed past me. Lancer's crying became louder. As he buried his face to the floor, not wanting to be heard. I shut my eyes as he looked over, and tried to not shiver as bad. "I'm sorry," He whispered. "Mom, I'm sorry too," He added. After a minute he stopped crying. I peeked in curiosity and found him asleep with icy tears frozen down his face. My heart beat relaxed a little as the place became a bit warmer. I fell back to sleep.
Vinny woke me up the next morning. Kira licked my cheeks. Wow, it was so warm. Why was someone yelling my name? I opened my eyes in shock. Vinny was nearly in tears, hugging me. "What are you doing?" I asked. She let go and cried. "What's up with you in the morning?" I asked, sitting up.
"Y-You were so cold and you wouldn't answer me. I thought you," She couldn't continue, crying harder.
"I told you she was just sleeping," Lancer mumbled. He looked back at me, and I could've sworn I saw his face soften, but I blinked and his serious expression was back. I got up, I didn't want to question him, he doesn't know that I saw him last night. So I acted normal. Vinny packed my sleeping bag.
"Why is it so wet," She complained. "Did it rain or something last night?" She asked. I shrugged. "Don't tell me you still leak when you're sleeping," She said, giving me a sly smile.
"ARE YOU AN IDIOT! WHY I'VE NEVER DONE THAT IN MY LIFE!" I yelled, as my face became red.
"Sure," She said, still uncertain. I rolled my eyes, as Kira leaped in to my arms. She purred as I petted her fur.
"Let's go," Lancer said, throwing his bag back on his shoulder. Kira was still sleeping, but I decided to hide her for now in Vinny's bag. We walked in silence for a few minutes, until the Mystic garden had totally disappeared. I looked back and saw the woods, no Mystic garden. We were back in the woods as we walked straight, until we saw horse carriages trotting and people walking by. We put on our bandannas and stepped outside.
"We should go to the black smith first," Lancer reminded.
"Oh yea," I said, forgetting about it since I had a sword. We kept on getting weird glances from people.
"Your sword's too flashy," Vinny whispered. I shrugged.
"Hey excuse me!" A voice called out to us. I turned around, it was an officer.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Why are you carrying a sword around?" He asked, holding up his pistol. I thought deeply.
"We're bounty hunters looking for Kali and her group. Please don't interfere, if we find them we'll slay them and hand them over for our reward," I lied. The officer gave a suspicious look, then nodded, saluting us.
"Good luck, bounty hunters are usually on the cop's watch since they might rampage on anyone, but now we have to trust them so we can catch those criminals," He explained, strapping his pistol back to his waist. I nodded that was quick. I bet they were desperate to catch me.
