We walked over the bloody corpses that littered the floor. Vinny was idling behind with the kids, Gina in one hand, and the other ruffling James hair. Apparently, we left the comforting jobs to her. I'm not good with kids and neither is Lancer.
I looked up at the sunset in the sky. It all seemed too peaceful. I'd rather keep it like that, I'm not complaining, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who is worrying and knows what will happen once we step foot in to the next path ahead. Even though everyone looked relaxed, inside was dread and fear.
"Oh! A forest up ahead. We should take a break there," Vinny said, cutting my thoughts. Indeed, I glanced ahead and saw a pine forest.
"I'm glad I can finally give my feet a break, and also clean this stench with a bit of nature," I sighed, embracing the fresh clean air of the trees around me.
As the branches crunched under my feet, I knew the exactly why Lilly let out a shriek. People's limbs were decorating the trees like Christmas ornaments. "I don't think we can actually rest around here," Vinny mumbled. Lancer drew his sword.
"Move back or die," he said, sawing at a small pine tree. It landed with a big THUD on the ground, spraying grass and tree branches in to my face. Lancer withdrew his sword and took a seat at the tree lump.
"Thanks for the pleasant tree branches in the face, gee here I thought you'd at least let the kids sit, they've had a tough day," I said. Lancer pointed at James.
"What!" James asked, not favoring Lancer.
"Come," Lancer ordered. James narrowed his eyes, and with his head high walked to him. Lancer pointed to his feet.
You are to clean my shoes and massage my feet," Lancer commanded.
"What! Are you crazy?!" James yelled, staking his pride. Lancer grabbed his ear and whispered something in it. James became stiff and pale.
"There is also the other choice, where I can ask you sister," Lancer said, grinning. James widened his eyes and shot a look to Lancer.
"I will never stoop so...so low!" James replied with a low voice.
"Oh, so maybe I should asked Vinny to harass you again. Then you sister could take the job-"
"No! I'll do it!" James yelled, cutting Lancer off. He quickly bent down and took Lancer's shoes off. A smile of satisfaction crept across Lancer's face.
"Ah, I have it rough, I need a bit of rest here and there." Lancer snickered. Evil. Pure Evil. I'm starting to doubt that he's Thresh.
"You're enjoying this aren't you. Honestly how sick could you be," I mumbled, clogging my nose from the sick stench. His feet smelled worse than the stench of the dead people. Lancer's eyes twinkled in atisfaction.
"Stupid old man, your feet smell like donkey fart," James ranted. Lancer frowned and jammed his feet up James's nostrils. James fell backwards, coughing and gagging.
"Old man, eh?" Lancer grumbled, like an old man.
"Poor boy," Vinny mumbled, shaking her head. Behind her Lilly glared at Lancer and took pity on James.
"He is defiantly a bad influence on little Jamesy! I can't let him grow up to be near him, or else...he might end up like him," Lilly exchanged words seriously with Vinny who nodded in agreement.
I took a tree nearby that looked cleaner than the rest, and sa down leaning on it. I wonder how Thresh looked like? A warty old troll probably. Will he be strong? Duh, Kali if he wasn't then those Celestial brat wouldn't have worried so much!
