"He's burnt badly," Vinny said, taking a look at Lancer's burn marks.
"It's a good thing you picked these herbs up, they'll ease the burn," the old man said, mixing the herbs.
"Well, I sort of got carried away and took most of the herbs for every sickness or wound I knew," Vinny said, chuckling.
"Here it's ready," He handed the bowl to Vinny. I watched as Vinny mixed it with her hands and took a small part on her finger.
"It's going to hurt a bit, so bear with it," She said, applying it on his chest burn. Lancer nearly crushed her hand to death. She stopped.
"You're killing my hand!" She yelled at him.
"Well it hurts!" He screamed.
"I told you it would! So stay put!" She said, applying more on the other burns. I was flinching myself, as Lancer gritted his teeth, and grunted. That thing must've really hurt, or else Lancer wouldn't show "such weakness" to us.
"It's almost done," She reassured him, finishing his left arm. He gripped the bed sheet, that was soaked in his sweat, under him. His cheeks puffed and released air, as he gripped his hair, nearly pulling it out.
"Relax Lancer, I need that arm now," She said, peeling his fingers off his hair. He screamed in pain as she applied more of this plant medicine. And he said my coughing is annoying. I looked at the old man who stared at Vinny's hand in disbelief.
"Gal, show me your hand," He said, after Vinny was done. She left Lancer to relax his breathing.
"Why?" She asked.
"Just hand it over," He told her. Vinny gave him a look at her hand. "Incredible, I just realixed that this medical ingredient was suppose to burn and eat away at anything it touched. Yet, your hand is not hurt?" The guy questioned. Vinny pulled her hand back right away.
"Hah, lucky aren't I?" She joked, with a hesitant voice. I took a look at Vinny's face. There were a few dry tears that fell down her cheeks.
"Vinny were you actually getting hurt?" I asked, leaving the old man in confusion.
"No, no!" She said, whiping her cheeks. "I'm fine," She added.
"You didn't have to go so far for that annoying boy," I told her. Vinny giggled.
"It's fine," She replied.
"Annoying huh, I swear you'll pay," Lancer mumbled under his breath. Vinny teased him and applied more of the herbs on a wound, making him scream out. Kira jumped out of my hands and cuddled next to Lancer.
"Get this creature away from me," Lancer mumbled as best as he could, his energy was drained, and honestly it was much more quiet that way. Kira purred, not giving up.
"More like get this creature called Lancer away from Kira," I switched around. He tried lifting his hands, but it fell back in exauhstion.
"I'm gonna sleep," He mumbled, closing his eyes. I stuck my tounge out and ate more of the soup the old man made for breakfast.
As soon as Lancer woke up, we started to pack up. The old man insisted on stuffing us with coats, shirts and blanket. "It was nice having some company here," The old man told us, as we stood by the door.
"Who knows we might meet again," I told him, as we exited the cozy house.
"Let's get out of here before I catch another cold," I mumbled, shivering.
"Don't you have like that fire power?" Vinny asked. I didn't feel comfortable about this power thing, but I guess I should get used to it.
"Well, I have a theory. My body is usual hot tempered so when it's cold the wheather changes suddenly and I end up catch a cold," I explained.
