Now, the songs that appear later on, you don't HAVE to play. It's just telling you what song is playing in the background.

CHAPTER 10

[Liam's POV]

I pulled up to Harry's home. Austin wasn't there. I snorted.

I didn't want to say anything last week, but Austin was a little harsh on Harry. When he was talking about Niall and his dad. That was a little mean. I just stood quietly while they bickered. Is that what Harry has to deal with? That's terrible. No kid should have to be yelled at while growing up. It's literally allowing for Harry's heart to be broken. Plus, he gets bullied. By my friends! That's not right. I feel terrible. All I want is for him to be pain free. Even if it kills me.

Anyways, tonight is the dance. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. This is the first time I've ever gone out in public with a guy... a gay guy at that. I know Harry won't try anything with me, but I'm still anxious on how the night will go.

I knocked on the door and stepped back, adjusting my blazer. I hardly wear these, but it's the only formal baby blue item I own. I looked at myself in the window, when I heard loud, voices from inside.

"I GOT IT!" I heard a girly voice running to the door. I'm guessing Sophia.

"GO FINISH SPONGEBOB, SHRIMP! I GOT THIS!" I heard a male accent trying to beat her to the door. Irish, to be exact. I smirked, when all of a sudden the door flung open and Niall fell outward. I stepped back and he hit the porch with a grunt. I helped him up, while Sophia laughed as if it were the funniest thing ever.

"Jeez!" Niall huffed, dusting himself off. "For a little girl, she can sure push a big guy!" he spoke, the Irish tint in his voice making him seem more adorable.

"Oh really, 'big guy'?" I air quoted. "Since when were you a big guy?" I ruffled up his hair.

"HEY!" he shrieked, quickly fixing his hair. "This is my dance hairstyle!" he pouted, crossing his arms.

I raised an eyebrow.

"You're going to the dance?" I asked, unbelievably.

Niall rolled his eyes.

"Why is everyone finding that so hard to believe!" he threw his hands up in the air.

Sophia had finished her laughing fit.

"Cause, you never had school spirit." Sophia put her hands on her hips. "You've always been 'I hate that hell hole' and 'Fuck off!' to nearly EVERYONE on campus!"

Me and Niall had our jaws dropped.

"SOPH!" Niall gaped. "I didn't know you cursed!"

She rolled her eyes.

"You're idiots, both of you." she huffed "By the way, Harry is upstairs getting ready." then she went back inside.

I looked at Niall, who shrugged before leading me inside. I closed the door. Niall and Sohpia went into the den and sat on the couch. I stood awkwardly in the doorway. I hadn't really explored Harry's home. When I brought him here before, I didn't take the time to look around. I was fixated on keeping him alive. But, now I'm here, I guess that I'll look around.

I went into the kitchen and saw usual appliances, fruit bowl, and a picture on the wall. It was above the dinner table. It had a beautiful, older woman with dark colored hair. She had Harry's lips and nose. Must be his mum, Mariah. I smiled.

Then, I strolled over to the hall that lead underneath the staircase. There were photoframes hung on the wall. There was a younger Harry, a smiling Harry, holding a medal around his neck. He had a football under his foot. Harry used to play football? He didn't look much older than 9 there. Another one was of Harry and Sophia in a park. He had his arms around her neck; in a playful way. She had her hands on his elbows, which were crossed over her chest. They were smiling brightly at the camera. The last one was in a circular frame. It was of Harry's mum. She had her hair in curls, flowing down her shoulders. She was looking off into the distance, eyes squinted just a bit. She was on a ferrie, sitting at a cafe table as she looked out onto the lake. Mariah was truly a beautiful woman. Shame that she died so young.
