I woke up to an empty house. It was early in the morning, and all the electronics in the house were off. Normally, at least one appliance -whether it be a hair dryer or a television or even a speaker- could be heard faintly throughout the apartment, depending on where you stood. But here, it was dead silent.
I also realized that Mitch was replaced with a small note that he stuck to the couch above my head. I peeled it, and read it to myself.
'Went out. Lunch date later. Be back by 3 to film for Sup3rfruit?
Text me if plans change.
-M.'I read it a couple of times, before crumbling it up and throwing it across the room.
That Jake guy, I thought to myself. I don't exactly know what makes me think so badly of him, but something simply isn't right. So cliché, I know. But honestly, there's just something that's extremely fishy about it.
I sat up, yawning. My head was buzzing. I couldn't remember much of what had happened the night before. But everything just felt so out of place and strange.
Nothing a little workout at the gym won't cure.
I sat up, reaching for my phone and texting Mitch a small reply.
Scott: sounds good. bring wine.
I didn't wait too long before getting a reply.
Mitchie: lmao will do. but it's my choice. :p
I smiled at the little face that he had added at the end for a couple seconds, before opening up a chat with Jeremy and Avi.
Scott: Hey, boys. You guys up for a little gym time later today?
I sat my phone up to charge, and then I went to start a pot of coffee. When I came back, the boys had answered.
Lumberjack: Sounds good, man. Time?
Scott: An hour or so.
Jer: Works for me. I could use a few lifts for the muscles.
Lumberjack: You're on, Scottie. And Jer, what muscles?
Scott: BURNED.
Jer: Very funny.
I chucked as Avi and Jeremy bickered for a few moments, before setting my phone down to get myself ready for the day.

Jeremy was spotting me while I lifted weights, while Avi was running on an elliptical. He had pulled his long hair back into one of his signature man buns. I liked his hair, if I'm honest. To shave it off now would be to shave off the memories.
"Okay, Scottie boy. Give me five more," Jeremy said as I struggled to push the bar up into the air. My arms ached, and my face was wet with sweat. My core was burning.
"Oh..my god," I gasped for air, bringing it back to just above my chest. I repeated the process painfully for a few more times, before Jeremy assisted me in resting it back in its place. I had o use the bar to get up.
"God dang, I'm out of shape, I panted. Jeremy just laughed, and Avi groaned. "Why are you guys laughing at me?"
"Scott, you have a body given to you from gods. Don't say that you're out of shape just because you can't finish off what, you're tenth set of lifts?"
I shrugged, still panting. He looked to Avi. "Give me a bit of that water bottle action?"
"Tell you what. If you can beat me in a lap on the running track, I'll buy you celebratory burgers. My treat. Deal?" Avi held out his hand to shake.
I smirked, shaking. What's a little bet if I win?
"Deal. You're on, Mr. Lumberjack."
