Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

Self-critique is important, but being fair with yourself is equally as important. The harder you are on yourself, the likelier you are to break yourself. There is a fine, fine line between self construction and self destruction, and while you think that analysing every single mistake benefits you, it may well be harming you. Constant negativity, when coming from an intrinsic source, is the worst possible kind. Ambition and drive are key to any type of success, but pushing yourself to exhaustion will undermine all your hard work. If you need to take a break, don't feel guilty- you are entitled to do things you genuinely enjoy to give yourself a break from the tasks you do not find pleasurable. Life is a journey and even if you haven't achieved everything you set out to, you're still a better developed person than you were last week.

Strength comes from experience- both good and bad. There is a balance between hard working and taking on too much to handle. Part of success is being able to identify when this scale tips against you and taking steps to destress. It takes a strong person to step away from a harmful situation. Dwelling on your mistakes takes energy and is disempowering. Challenge the negativity and focus on moving forwards. Mistakes are unavoidable, but the way you deal with them is very much in your hands. Rather than picking situations apart, take what went wrong and let is serve as a lesson. When moving forward, try to keep things in perspective. Ask yourself if something is really as bad as it seems and think about what you can do differently in the future.
There are so many challenges in life so don't let your thoughts be another one. You need to be your own best friend and not your worst enemy. In a world full of variables, your thoughts and attitudes are constants; you will always have them with you. With that in mind, learn to love yourself as an imperfect person and allow yourself to make mistakes. Understand that taking time out to collect your thoughts is perfectly fine- often recommended. In a world where you'll always have yourself (sometimes only have yourself), there is no reason to feel guilty for doing what you need to in order to keep a positive and healthy mindset.

I may not know you personally, but I just want to congratulate you on all you have achieved up to this point and remind you to not be so hard on yourself.
