Birthdays are very nostalgic and contemplative for me. I reflect on all that has been, and all that is to come. I've been feeling lost lately, in all aspects of my life. I wanted to re-centre, to formulate a list of life lessons.
19 things I learned at 19:
1. if enough people say the same thing, there is usually a level of truth to it {referring to people in particular}
2. Some people just don't change, not truly
3. Forever is a long, long time, and many friendships won't last that time
4. Embracing each moment is the best way to live
5. If people care, they will make an effort
6. The best company to be in is often your own
7. Love is not the right attention from the wrong person
8. You should not lower your standards for anyone
9. You only need a few good people to surround yourself with
10. It is never too late. For anything.
11. The good is not eternal, but neither is the bad
12. Friendship is a vibe
13. Your pride holds you back
14. We are all as clueless, dazed and confused as each other
15. It is so important to look after yourself
16. You don't need everyone to like you
17. Your flaws are not nearly as noticeable to them as they are to you
18. Success is constantly working hard
19. You must never expect reciprocation, though it is nice
