Take Risks

It's hard to take a risk, for the element of uncertainty contradicts our innate tendency to strive for order, for control. Leaping forward, we cease control to the balance of the universe- a daunting prospect.

True, some risks are less likely to pay off, but some lead to the best outcomes. I think it comes down to two key elements when deciding if the next step into the unknown is worth it: if you are both excited and scared.

Being just excited means there is no challenge, no stimulation. Essentially, there is no opportunity for self growth, and taking the next step is pointless. If you're just scared, you aren't ready. There is no positive motivation, rather you'll be stimulated by fear alone with nothing to strive towards.

It's also important to understand that successful will not fall into your lap- you must pursue it. Success stems from confronting new situations and handling them well, so necessarily you have to take a risk by exposing yourself to unfamiliar experiences. You won't achieve success without making mistakes, and part of trying something new is accepting that you don't know for sure how you'll achieve the results you want, but you'll keep trying until you do. You'll experiment, you'll take risks, and you might even open up a world of possibilities. You cannot realise your potential if you limit yourself to your comfort zone.

There will be times when you succeed and times when you fail, and both are important as each other. Both form your character, your essence.

To take a risk is an act of trust to yourself. It says that you believe in your ability to create an opportunity before you have created it. It's a sign of strength.

A/N: I'm back! It's been a while, but I've got more ideas planned and plenty of time to write.
Much love,
Indi
