Tears

I woke up to feel the warm sun creeping through my blinds.
I sat up and sighed.
"What a horrible dream..."

I skipped breakfast and I got dressed into my black cloak.
"I will go back..."
I needed to make enough money to get a ticket to England.

I called the bakery lady telling her I wouldn't be there for today. I decided to go around and ask others for a good paying job for the day.

At the end of the day I was at my last stop.

I pulled out a gun for protection and headed down a dark alleyway.
I turned around and pointed the gun at a Manucho charged at me.
"You're in the wrong lane little girl."
He snarled "I need money."
I said coldly.

The man laughed.
"You think a little-" I pointed the gun at his head. "I'm serious." He backed up and yelled.
"Jonathan, there's a girl to see you!"

A tall and very slim man slithered around the corner. He had blonde hair and his eyes were a bright blue.
He bent down to get a better look at me.

"We've heard that you're an underage worker with no parents." He laughed. "Now tell me, why have you come here?"

"I need money. Lots of it. Any jobs?"
He laughed. "You could be a prostitu-"
I pointed the gun at him.
"Be serious." He sighed.
"Impatient? How much are we talking about?"
"One thousand dollars."
He raised his eyebrows.
"What are you trying to do?"

I hesitated for a moment.
"It's not important. Have any jobs?"
He smirked. "Actually I do."
"How much does this pay?
"Two thousand dollars."

My eyes widened and my heart skipped a beat.
"But only if you can do the job."
I watched him impatiently and nodded.
"You're good with computers right?"

He gave me a list.
"I need these files retrieved without being caught. This process will take a few hours at most. Are you up to the challenge?"
I nodded.

Time skip

I completed the task after a few hours and showed Jonathan.
"Wow you actually did it." He said surprised. He handed me the money and I ran off.

I bolted back to my house but I bumped into a tall man.
"Sorry." I mumbled. I continued to walk but the man grabbed me by the arm. "I've been looking for you!" Soichero Yagami.

I pulled away from the man and ran back to my house.
"I'm going to England in no time."
I said smiling.

I set my clock for 8:30 and fell asleep.
Morning followed too quickly for my comfort and I dragged myself to the bakery.

I entered the baking room and sighed.
"Mrs.Cradey we need to talk."
"You can call me Susan dear. What is it?" I pulled some bread out of the oven.

"I'm going to take a small trip to England."
She had looked at my bread and put it back into the oven.
"Is something wrong?"
"It's a long story..." I mumbled.
"Well I have all day.

I explained everything to her. Lawliet, the kidnapping, even Soichero Yagami.

"I can get you the tickets dear. They'll be too suspicious if you do it. You can pay me later."
I hugged her and knocked some rolls off the table. "Thank you so much!"
She laughed and we did our work.
I returned the next day and she had tickets in her hand.

I took them and thanked her again.
I went outside to grab a taxi. I texted Watari about my arrival as I boarded the plane.
I held onto my heart piece tight and this time a younger girl sat next to me. I took the window seat and the girls mother sat beside her.

She stared at me as I pulled out some papers.
"What's that?"
I spoke in a low voice.

"I'm keeping track of money. My parents are dead so they can't help me."

She tugged on her moms sleeve.
"Mum, did you hear what she said?"
Her mother sighed.
"I'm tired Kate. You should get some rest too."
The girl huffed and I stared out the window.

What if something happens to L?

Tears filled my eyes but I quickly blinked them away and fell asleep.
When I woke up when we landed.

"Welcome to England! Please enjoy your stay!" I was one of the first people to get off the plane and I took a taxi to a small park.
Then I had sprinted to the Wammy house.

Just a few blocks away.

I told myself as I jogged along the pavement.
Finally, I stood at the door hesitating to ring the doorbell.
I rang the doorbell and William opened the door.

"(Y/N)!" He yelled. I smiled and Beyond appeared behind him.
"Hello (Y/n). It's been awhile. Here to see L I presume?"
I had slightly blushed.
"F-For the most part. But I'm glad to see you too."

They took my bags as I walked in.
I scanned the room and Watari came.
"(Y/n) I'm glad you've come to visit again!" I smiled and shook his hand.
"I'm glad to be back. Where's L?"
Watari's face grew stiff.

"He's in his room." As I went to L's room Watari grabbed me by the arm.
"(Y/n) you must know something."
I turned around.
"What is it?"
Watari took a breath.
