Hope (L x Reader)

Moving

I moved in the following morning. I sighed of sadness as I thought about my cat. (Who I gave to Mrs.Cradey who gladly accepted him)

I plopped down onto the couch and sighed again.
"Everything alright?" I heard. I turned to see L standing with a cup of coffee in his hands.
"Yeah." I said miserably.
He sat down next to me and handed me the coffee.
"It's my fault...I'm sorry I forced you to stay."

I looked at him and his change of attitude.
"It's not your fault... Just a little homesick."

He nodded and explained our schedule.
"We'll be moving hotels every few days, just to make sure Kira doesn't track us down."

I nodded tiredly as I listened to him ramble on. I tried my best not to yawn even though I stayed up with L trying to catch this criminal.

Over night we pinpointed our suspicions to a young man named Light Yagami. He was a senior student with strait A's, good looks and popular.

((I have no idea if he's a senior please don't kill me!!! T_T;))

A perfect child.

As I told L about my suspicions L had scheduled a day when he'd meet Light.
"Hey, can I come?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes. "Hmm..." He said as he bit his thumb. "I guess having you meet him as well would help. Ok."

I didn't see Light's death date in his photo...could that mean...no, (Y/n). Don't think like that. If you tried to explain to L about being part Shinigami...he...he'd push you away again. Just stay calm...

I thought to myself.

L told me about his tennis match with Light and I laughed loudly.
"W-what's so funny?" He asked.
"Sorry, but I can't see you doing any sports. You seem pretty damn lazy."
I said as I laughed even harder.

L slightly flushed and turned away.
"Shut up." He said. I giggled and we both returned to our work.

Today was the day we were meeting Light Yagami. L dressed in his normal attire and I put on an oversized grey sweater and black skinny jeans.
We both headed outside and sat down on a bench a few minutes later.

"What if they don't like me?"
I asked quietly. He turned to face me and gave me a shocked look.
"Don't worry they'll like you." He said in his most comforting voice.
"And while we're in public I need you to call me Ryuzaki."

I nodded and a loud voice cleared my thoughts.
"Ryuzaki!" L quickly stood up still hunched over as I nervously stood up.
Light had walked over with a blonde girl.
L and Light shook hands and I stood behind L, completely nervous.

The blonde girl gave L a weird look and awkwardly shook his hand.
She looked at me and her face brightened.
"Ryuzaki, you never told me you had a girlfriend!" The girl exclaimed. Light turned his attention toward me and the girl pulled me next to L.

"We're friends." L said embarrassedly and I blushed.
"You guys look more like a couple to me!" The blonde girl laughed and I hid behind L again.
"Misa, you're bothering her."
Light said. The girl who was named Misa tugged on his arm.
"I was only playing!"
She said in a childish tone.

Light wasn't amused. He sighed and stared at my red face.
He came over to me and shook my hand.
"I'm Light. And you are?"
I was so nervous I couldn't speak.
"(Y/n)." L said. I nodded and shook Lights hand.

"I'm Light Yagami and that's-"
Misa cut him off.
"I'm Lights girlfriend, Misa Amane!"

"You haven't said anything yet! Why?" Misa asked.
Once again due to my nervousness I didn't say anything and L stepped in again.

"She's not comfortable speaking in front of people she's just met."
He knew exactly what I felt and I sighed of relief.
Misa pulled me away from the group.

"Can you speak?" I took a deep breathe.
"No." I said sarcastically.
"How old are you guys?" She questioned.
"Older than you." I said.
She grinned.
"So what's he like?" I was confused.
"W-what do you mean?"
She giggled.
"You know what I mean."
I blinked and shook my head.
"I'm sorry I don't."
She had giggled again.
"What's he like in bed?"
My face turned red.
"We're just friends! Nothing else!"
She giggled again.
"You're turning red. Are you sure there's nothing between you?"
At this point my face red completely red.
"There's nothing between us!" I stammered and I ran back to L.
Misa came back grinning.
"Misa what did you say?" Light said.
She whispered into his ear and Light slightly blushed.
"Misa you don't ask people that!"
She pouted and L perked up.
"Am I missing something?"
He said.
We all exchanged an awkward look and stared at L.

L looked at us. "What?" He said confused.
I pointed at Misa.
"You're the one who started this so you should tell him."
She jumped.
"You know him better so you should tell him!"
I shook my head and L was even more confused.
Light spoke.
"Misa wanted to know what you're like in bed with (Y/n)."
I buried my hands into my red face and L's face flushed.
"B-but we're just friends."
I kept my head down.
"I'm going back to the room. Nice to meet you both. Goodbye."
I said before running off.

First impression on Kira. Nobody noticed Lights Shinigami...who knew it was Ryuk? If I told L who I am he'd leave me. He'd say I'm Kira. Maybe I can hide this...

I slumped over and shut the hotel room door. I pulled up a laptop to do some more research on Light and Misa.

Sorry for the adult humor in this chapter. I felt like it was necessary haha! And happy Halloween! I still trick or treat cause I'm an immature freak heh...and I apologize for not updating as much and I barley edited this chapter. Therapy and other activities have been taking up a lot of my time. See you again!
