Hope (L x Reader)

Kira

I burst open the door.
"L!" I gasped.
He quickly stood up.
"What happened?" He asked. I showed him the video and handed him the death note.

"Call chief Yagami! If we can convince him the case is closed! All we need is to prove Light is Kira but I have that other video too!" I said happily.
"We'll have to wait a few days to see if the killings stopped. If they have...we win."

I smirked at him and he flashed a grin back.
We both sat down on the couch and I stretched while rubbing my eyes.
"Oh!" I said.
I quickly retrieved my cake that I brought earlier and handed it to him.
"An early victory cake." I laughed nervously.

"You're too confident in this."
He said jokingly as he laughed and took the cake. He hugged me. "Thanks."
I laughed nervously and we waited the next few days.

I held his hand.

"I want to show you something." I said nervously.
He nodded and put on a jacket.
"What is it?" We walked out of the hotel and outside. I dragged him to a forest and to the small creek.
We sat on the rocks next to the water and the moon has risen along with the stars in the sky.

"Is this it?" He said. I nodded.
"I go here when I need to think. It's quiet and people usually don't come here...it's wonderful."
He nodded and the wind blew.
I had forgotten a jacket and I shivered.
He took off his jacket and put it over me.

"T-thanks." I said and he put his arm around my shoulder.
"It is really is beautiful out here."
He said.
I nodded and leaned my head on his shoulder and he leaned his head on mine.

"(Y/n), I want to tell you something..."
I was spacing out.
Me ruining the moment as usual I started to talk about Kira.
"Should we detain them after a few days or should we do it strait away?"
I asked. L sighed at me with me changing the subject.

"I guess we can wait after a few days..."
I stood up.
"Wait here. I'm going to get something!"
L nodded and I jumped off the rocks heading into town.

L's Pov

I tried to bring it up to her but she immediately changed the subject...
Was that intentional? Whatever the case I need to tell her...but how? Maybe tonight...

I stood up to stretch and quickly sat
back down in my knees to chest position. I shivered as the cold water water splashed against my feet. I had taken off my shoes earlier and left them behind myself.
I skipped a stone and huffed.

What if she rejects me?
Real smart Lawliet...letting someone take your heart...

I looked back.
What's taking her so long?
I looked up at the sky.
Just like the night I met her...
I chuckled to myself and I heard rustling in the voices.
"Hey!" It was (Y/n).

(Y/n)'s Pov

I went out to get hot chocolate for us and Mrs.Cradey let me take some cookies.

I walked over and sat down next to him and kicked off my shoes.
I handed him a hot chocolate and placed the bag of cookies between us.
"Did you pay for these? I can pay you back." He said suddenly.

I laughed and he stared at me softly blushed.
"W-what?" He asked. I laughed harder.
"You don't need to pay. It's a gift."
His eyes widened. "A...gift?"
I nodded. "You don't need to pay."
I stared at him. "You look cold."

He shook his head. "You need it more."
I took off his jacket and gave it to him.
He gave it to me and we continued this for a few minutes when we stopped and burst end out laughing.
"Just like old times (Y/n)." I smiled.
"Yeah." I said.

We both shivered and I have him the jacket. He sighed and put it on and watched me shiver.
"You sure you don't need this?"
I gave him a childish grin and sat on his lap. "Yeah, I'm sure." He laughed and pulled me into a hug.

We drank our hot chocolate and stayed like that for another hour saying nothing but instead staring at the sky.

I feel something for him that I never
have felt for someone else...
What is this feeling?

The cold water tickled our feet as we ate the last of the cookies.
"I don't know where I'd be if I didn't meet you again... I missed you."
He hugged me tighter.
"I missed you too."

L's Pov

I love her.
Should I tell her now? Is now the moment?
"(Y/n)...I need to tell you something."
I said.

(Y/n)'s Pov

"(Y/n)?" I quickly woke up.
"Whaaa!..." I had been sleeping.
"Never mind..." He said quietly.
My phone buzzed and I quickly answered it.
"Hello?"
"This is Soichero Yagami. Are you with L?"

I hesitated to answer. "Yeah...why?"
L stared at me confused.
"Who is it?"
I answered into the phone.
"Yeah, he is. Would you like to speak to him?"
"Yes."
I handed the phone to L and he hung up after a few seconds.
"They escaped."

I'm in such a shitty mood and I've had such a bad writers block (I barely edited this S O R R Y) I'm almost done with this story! 4 chapters left! I'm so excited!
