BONNIE
It was a beautiful warm day. The middle of fall but not a cloud in the sky or a leaf on the ground. I stood in line with my two friends and hundreds of other girls cramming and screaming to see them.
"Oh, I'm so excited! I wonder when they'll let us in" said Viv. "Hopefully soon. I'm starting to sweat between my boobs!" Natalie chimed in fanning her shirt, trying to dry out the sweat that was forming on her skin.
Natalie and Vivian had been my friends since they attended my salon two years ago. Vivian was a unique beauty. She was tall like a model. About 5'11 in height to be exact. She was very slender and her pale skin made her orange-red hair appear it was on fire. Natalie was the complete opposite. She was shorter and very voluptuous. Natalie had gorgeous dark chocolate skin that was as smooth as butter and glowed constantly. She was indeed a knockout and did not need anyone to tell her. Confident was an understatement for Nat.
"I'm so nervous," Nat said. "I want Georg to sign my breast! Omg, if he signed it I would die!"
"No one wants to sign that nasty sweaty thing," I said.
We stood there giggling as a stout sized man with a microphone appeared and interrupt our laughs.
"Please, please, please! Hello all, the signing will begin shortly." He screamed into the mic. "Tokio Hotel will begin signing momentarily".
The crowd went crazy and we screamed along with them. I could not bear to hold in my excitement. I have been in love with this band since 2006 and when I met the girls, I introduced them to the band too.
We stood there for another 10 minutes before they started to let us in. I made the stupid choice of wearing heels and my feet were far past the hurting phase.
"I don't know why you decided to wear them." Nat sneered towards me. I looked at her with painful eyes in agreement.
I knew that morning that I did not want to look like the other hundreds of girls that would attend. I knew that if I had seen the band years ago I would have dressed just like the girl next to me. Black skinny jeans with a Tokio Hotel shirt and converse. Black liner running down my face from the unexpected heat in the fall. That was Bonnie in 2009. The Bonnie of 2015 was far more matured than that.
All three of us had dressed actually quite against the norm of someone going to see a rock band. Vivian decided to wear a red and black flannel style dress, a leather jacket and brown ankle boots. She had her orange-red hair flat ironed straight and flowing from her head. Natalie wore a baby pink lace shirt, army green skinny jeans and black doc marten boots. She had pinned her long braids up into a huge bun with a few pieces dangling from her head. I changed my outfit about six times between last night and this morning. I decided on a white bodysuit with a "V" shaped back. I wore a light tan mini skirt, which hugged my bottom perfectly and tan heels. I kept my natural curls all over my head and pinned one side back a bit to show my face. I looked down at myself thinking; one I was somewhat overdressed for an event like this and two, I fucking knew better than to wear these heels.
We entered the venue and there they sat. All four of them. Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav. I could not believe it. There they were in the flesh smiling and greeting all the crying and screaming female fans. I started to shake a bit and this time it was not from the pain in my heels. I have been a fan of the band for 9 years, I always imagined meeting them, and now that I was here, I could not stop shaking. I remembered when I first heard their song "Durch den Monsun". It was a German song and I had no idea what they were saying. I felt the energy and the angst. I loved everything from the singing to the sound and I became a fan that very moment. I was 15 years old then.
