Hospital

Vale's POV

I went directly to the room number given by Nanny. While I'm on my way here, I really prayed hard that there will be no serious problem with my daughter.

She has a problem with her heart and we found out about it a year after I gave birth to her. The doctor said she needs to get operated but it will happen only if her heart is already stable. Another problem is that, my daughter, Eunice, has a rare blood type that neither me or my family members has.

"Nanny? How is she?"

"Thank goodness Disiree you're already here. The doctor will be back."

My baby girl is fast asleep on the hospital bed. It really hurts me to see an IV inserted to her hand. I kissed her forehead and told her everything will be alright.

"Ms. Hustens?"

"Doctor Williams. How is my daughter?" He is in his mid-50's and one of the best doctor in London. Ever since we came to London, he is the one who look after Eunice.

"Vale, just calm down first okay? Her heart is not yet stable but we need her to get operated as soon as possible so there will be no complications."

"What complications?"

"Based on the records, the other siblings that she had got this which was the reason why they died."

I remember now. I know you're wondering what siblings the doctor was talking about. Actually, I gave birth to triplets. Luckily, it was a normal delivery but the other two babies didn't make it. Both of them has complications with their heart and only Eunice made it. I can't take it anymore if my daughter will also die. She is the only one I have in my life. My happy pill.

"I don't care how much it will cost, I'll pay. Let's have the surgery as soon as possible."

"I don't think money is the hindrance in this situation Vale."

"What? Please go straight to the point Wil."

"We need to prepare blood for the blood transfusion of your daughter."

"Then let's look for people with that blood type!"

This is frustrating! I already asked for numerous blood donation center here and abroad but there is still no update. If only we have a matching blood type, I would donate for the sake of my daughter's life.

"We had a call from a blood donation center a week ago. They told us that she has the same blood type. So, we checked it to confirm if they'll match. Sadly, they didn't."

"What can we do now?"

"She'll stay in the hospital to be monitored. By the way, did you already ask the father of your child for his blood type?"

I gulped. I was a little bit puzzled but it hit me that there is a possiblity that Zane has the same blood type with my daughter. How could I ask him? I can't let him know that she has a daughter.

"I'll make a way. Please look after my daughter Doctor Williams. Nanny, I'll have to go for a while."

They nodded and made a call to Yedin.

Yedin's POV

Sitting for hours in this boring meeting is making me sick. They're talking about stocks, marketing, sales and resources. My boss told me to right everything important and necessary and I did that for the first hour but hours after that, I am already scribbling stuffs.

I was about to fall asleep when my phone in my blazer jacket buzzed. I excused myself and get this chance to answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Yedin? Can I talk to you?"

"Oh. Vale, what is it? By the way, why did you call in my business number?"

"I tried calling your personal number and it just keeps on going to the voicemail. That's when I realized, you might be in a meeting. And, you can always answer a call if it is about business, right?"

I laughed. Yeah, she's right. As a secretary, that's my job. Answer business and personal calls. Take note of them and relay their message to Mr. West.

"Let's meet up at the café near your office Yedin."

I left a note on the table of Mr. West telling him that I forgot to do some errands. When I get back I'll bring him his favorite coffee.

I hope he will not suspect anything. He's a man you can't fool and surprise. Such a boring man.

"Yedin!"

I rushed to the table where she is. She looks so worried and stressed. I can feel that she has a problem at hand.

"What is it Vale? Tell me directly because it seems like you're so worried."

"Okay. I have a daughter and she needs a blood transfusion. The problem is, her blood type is rare."

"You have a daughter?! Is Mr. West the father?!"

"Please tone down your voice. And yes, he is the father but you're not telling him about it."

"But why not? He has the right to know."

"The day he left me, is the day he lost that right. So, I need a favor. Please."

"As lons as I can do it."

"Please ask Zane his blood type"

"That's all?"

"For now. Tell me about it and we'll do the next move if it is positive."

"Okay. I have to buy a coffee for Mr. West. His meeting might be done by now."

We said our goodbyes and went to separate ways. I have to do this. But, I have to make excuses on why I am asking him his blood type. Goodness.

I am the bridge between them. I surely needs to dig deeper on what happened to their love story.
