Joshua's POV

A week ago, Mr. West chose the most simple yet attracting design of the coffee shop. The day after that he gave instructions to start the construction of it. I am making sure that everything goes according to the plan. This is my first big project abroad so, I must leave with no regret.

"Joshua whose luggage is that?" I looked at where he is pointing and saw my sister's stuffs. I should tell him that she will be staying for a couple of days here in our place.

"That's Hanna's stuffs. By the way, she's going to stay with us. I hope you wouldn't mind?"

"No, of course not. She's like a sister to me. Also, I won't be staying here for a few days."

"Why? Are you going somewhere?"

He tossed the mango drink to me and good thing that I have good reflexes, I caught it.

"Hmm. I'll be going to California with Mica. She'll introduce me to a guy who is known for his massive collection of abstract paintings. He might be interested in my paintings so, we'll give it a try."

"Oh. Is that all?"

"We're also going to celebrate our monthsary. Happy? Jeez I just blurt out everything that I'm going to do."

"Dude if you're going as far as this then, it means you're dead serious about your relationship."

He put on his earphones and started to walk away acting like he didn't hear anything and just ignore it.

He's really serious about this one.

I'm happy for him. But, why do I feel like that something is still missing. Like a puzzle, where the important piece is hard to fit in because you didn't start it in the right way.

"What is it Hanna?"

"Ouch! Is that how you say hello in British?"

"I'm quite busy you know. I still have numerous paperworks to do."

"Alright alright. Oppa I want you to meet my best friend someday. I don't know if you're available this weekend?"

"I have no scheduled plans yet. Yeah sure, I'll meet her. She has been a great friend towards you while you're trying look who you really are."

Toot toot toot toot

What?! He just ended the call? Is that how you say goodbye in Irish?

Anyway, I have to submit some paperworks to Mr. West. I better leave now or I'll be late for our meeting.

Vale's POV

"O negative? Are you sure?"

I'm talking on the phone with Yedin. She just told me a very good news but the hospital needs to check his blood first if it will be a match to my daugther's.

"Certainly. So, how will we let him do the blood test?"

"I'm not sure. Do you have a plan in mind?"

"I could lie to him and tell him that a relative of mine will need a blood transfusion and so on and so forth." I can hear the wind through the phone. I bet she's in the roof top to avoid eavesdropping people.

"Do whatever you think as long as you won't tell him that the kid is mine or it is his daughter."

I ended the call and proceeded with my work.

Knock knock

"Come in."

"Ms. Hustens, we have a little problem with our distribution in New York. I guess you have to get an appointment with Mr. West."

What?! But, if the problem is serious then, I will do whatever I need to do. I'll have to check the files regarding the distribution.

"Here's the files you're asking for Ma'am."

When I checked it I was relieved for a moment because this is not something to be rushed but I have to make actions as early as possible so that there will be no problem amd complications in the future.

"Good afternoon. This is Yedin of West Corporations. How may I help you?"

"Yedin, this is Vale. Can I schedule an appointment with Mr. West today?"

"He doesn't have a meeting or any appointment at 15:00pm onwards. Do you want to take that time?"

"Absolutely. This is something quite important and this is pure business. Please relay that to your boss."

"Hahaha I'm sorry. Yes, ma'am right away. Good bye."

I can't believe I just made an appointment with him. But, it is not like asking him to go out on a date with me, right? What am I thinking!

I glanced at my wrist watch and saw that it is already 14:02pm and it will take 30-45 minutes to get to his company.

Yedin's POV

Inhale... Exhale... Inhale... Exhale...

I really don't know what to say to him. I'm not a good liar. Please good heavens help me with this.

Knock knock

He seems not that busy, I guess. There are only few piles of paper works on the table and he's just typing with his computer. I hope this is a good timing.

"Mr. West? Can I disturb you for a minute?"

"What is it? Are you going to tell me the whole story of your love life with Joshua?"

An idea pops out of my mind. Hmm. Interesting.

"Absolutely but I have a favor to ask."

"Spill."

"The daughter of the friend of my friend who lives near our neighborhood and that friend is working and badly needs the help of my friend. . ."

"Wait wait. Just go straight to the point. It's confusing me."

"That child needs blood transfusion and her blood type is O negative. She needs to be operated soon."

Shock is visible on his face but I don't know if it is because the child is going to be operated or because he's going to go for a blood test and blood transfusion for a stranger. That girl is his daughter anyway.

"Sir? Please I beg you!!!!"

"Wait. I'll think about it. Are there any people who are capable for that?" He asked me and as far as I know. There are no people that they found as a match.

"I believe there are none sir."

"Let's talk again later. You may leave."

I made my way out of his office and went to my desk. Puzzled is the right term for me right now. It is still unbelievable that a child's life is on my hands right now and that I have to do my best just to convince her father by keeping some details behind. Technically, I'm not actually lying. Why? Because it is true that a friend of my friend is in need of blood transfusion. Alexandrew is my friend who is a friend of Vale.
