Vale's POV
"Ms. Hustens, I have a good news for you."
It took two days for the laboratory team to check if the blood type of Eunice and Alexandrew are a match since they have to do it carefully and by all means, perfect.
"What is it, Doctor Williams? You better make sure it is something I'll be happy."
He stood up making his way to the coffee blender and took two cups of coffee. He handed me the other one and sat back to his chair.
"Well, they are a match. 99.9% to be exact."
"It seems like there is a but to that statement."
"You're right. Since we're doing a critical operation the donor should be there during the surgery."
"How could it be critical Doctor Williams? You told me there is 90% of survival for this. And why does he needs to be there? He'll know if he's there."
This is not so good news to me. I can't believe I am facing another horror in my life. To get facts straight here, I seriously don't want him to be there. First, I don't want him to know the child is related to him nor to me. Second, everything will be a mess.
"Calm down Vale. It is critical if he won't be there because we can't assure you that the amount of blood donated will suffice for this surgery. Having him there is both a problem and a solution."
That's ridiculous.
"You're simply saying that there is a tendency for a lot of blood loss?"
"Yes, in some circumstances but that would only be 10%. We're actually looking for another blood donor if possible. If we take too much blood from Eunice's father. . . "
"He never acted as a father. Not even once Wil."
"Okay okay. As I was saying, taking too much blood from him can endager his life."
"What do you mean Doctor Williams?"
"He can't give much blood compared to normal blood donors because until now, his recovery rate from the accident he had years ago is still low."
I am really out of place here. I don't know what he is talking about. Yeah sure, I get what those words mean but not on what happened.
"What accident?"
"I presume you were not together anymore when he had an accident. We checked him up first before the blood testing to make sure he is capable of it and there would be no complications. When I saw the results, I thought there was something wrong with it. That's why I asked my fellow doctor who is, luckily, one of the doctors who watched over Alexandrew. That's how I got my information. Don't worry, I ran an investigation with the help of my brother who is an inspector. He affirmed the information I got."
I am still trying to take in every details I got from Doctor Williams. Two words that describes me right now: Totally. Shocked.
"When did the accident happen?"
"Getting curious are we? It happened 6 years ago. So, hmm, 2010."
This is unbelievable. We were still together that year. I mean, we silently broke up on November. I would've known if he had an accident but I didn't hear anything from his family nor from the media.
"Vale? Are you alright?"
"Yeah yeah. When will the surgery take place?"
"It should be the soonest, so we set it 9 days from now. I have the best doctors lined up for the surgery and I am one of them. You have nothing to worry about."
"I guess. I'll be back tomorrow for the confirmation of letting him stay during the surgery."
All the things I've heard, all the details and information I got are certainly new and shocking. I wasn't prepared in any of these but who could I blame? Life is full of mystery. Darn it why is this happening to me? I really don't deserve to be happy, do I?
Ring ring
"Yes, hello?"
"Vale? I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"Are you driving?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Could you park somewhere safe first. Tell me if you found a place already."
"Alright. I'm parked somewhere near a coffee shop."
"Okay. We have a problem."
Alexandrew's POV
Th- this. . is s-so impossible. How could I not know? I'm pretty sure I would know by any means.
"It is not what you're thinking Mr. West."
"SHUT THE HELL UP YEDIN! How could I agree to donate my blood to a child whose mother is Vale Disiree Hustens!"
"But sir. ."
"Leave me alone!"
I have donated enough blood that the child will need for the surgery but I regretted it after I heard from a friend of mine, who is working with Disiree, that she have a child who have heart complications. I decided to get some information of this child to whom I donated some of my blood.
This child and Disiree's child are one. How could she not told me that she cheated on me. I guess that's the reason why she left me is that she is in love with someone else and having a child with that guy.
How could I be so stupid?!
Speaking of the girl who betrayed me.
"Yedin!"
"Vale, I'm really sorry"
I heard them talking from the distance. One thing that is also shocking, my secretary betraying me too. She sided with my enemy. This is full of crap!
"Wow. Two girls betraying one guy. This is marvelous!" Note the sarcasm in there.
"Please enlighten me Mr. West." She finally spoke to me after a little chit chat with the my secretary.
"I guess my secretary, who is your ally, told you that I already know your affair with a guy when we were together before and how dare you to ask me donate blood for your child. Couldn't you ask her father to do that?!"
"Zane, stop this stupidity of yours. This is nonsense."
"Nonsense? Stupidity? Oh yeah. I got fooled that you actually love me. I guess what my mom told me was the truth. YOU. LEFT. ME. Why? Because I can't give you much money and you settled for a guy who is richer than me and started dating behind my back."
"Stop there you who-knows-everything. That's what your mother told you? You're really stupid, aren't you?"
"Not really. That's how I guess you build up your own company because of that man's richness."
"We're getting nowhere here Mister. Let me clarify first, I didn't leave you and I'm pretty sure I didn't have any affair with any man other than you. Ask your mother the whole truth or maybe ask your ever loyal driver. Come Yedin, you'll start working with me if you get fired."
Yes! I will finally fire you Yedin Baek. I never knew why I keep on involving myself to women who will betray me at the end. First, Disiree betrayed me by having an affair behind my back. Second, my secretary secretly working with the girl who left me 7 years ago.
Ring ring ring
"Hello?"
"Uh. Mr. West? Is there something wrong?"
"You know what Joshua, let's meet up at the Wazzup Restobar. I'll see you at 7pm."
In this way I'll be able to release some of my anger.
