James
The suggestions given by Jace turned out to be helpful. It restricted any sort of unauthorized entrances without my permission which was beneficial in plenty of forms. Firstly, the percentage of the vulnerability of our pack getting attacked reduced impressively. Secondly, it affected our living standards, enhancing it and bringing it to a whole new level without the fear of being dead. I must praise the decisions implied by Jace to boost confidence within all our pack members, improvising our bond and pack communications.
It seemed like the Dark Moon pack converted itself to a better and stronger version. With all the technical and mental assurance, indeed it was difficult for any outsider to invade our pack in search of weaknesses yet alone, information.
The pack was secure and the extra metal gate was an enhancement to it. Who would have thought Jace's suggestions would come to handy, excluding a particular person who happens to be my Beta, Drake. I would be lying if I denied all the times' Drake tried to convince me to abide by Jace's suggestions. For an Alpha, it was like admitting his own defeat, which I was totally against. No matter how much it confined me, I had to give in, for the sake and security of the pack.
Frankly, I never understood the faith Drake had in Jace. He trusted him more than he trusted me, his own Alpha. It amused me and more than that it confounded me a lot. Maybe it was his gut instincts for I had never seen them even talk before. Why would Drake support someone with whom he doesn't even converse properly?
I looked at the map containing Jace's suggestions placed on my bed, I hated to admit it was an incredible idea to put effort into. I was not planning to say that in front of him, I never will. It was worth the time and money, for the fret of being victimized, were gone, gone from everyone's mind including mine. However, putting a full extinct to it was not under my consideration.
"Jeez," Hailey sighed, "You seriously had to rip my favourite nightgown off." She complained, her eyes flickering with anger as she fondled her silk nightdress in her arms. Her eyes glossy as she stared at the material of clothing in front of her.
"I couldn't help it. Temptation, you see." I groaned as the memory of her wearing that dress last night flooded my head, blood quickly rushed to my cock as I sat there, horny, "You know how irresistible it gets when you're wearing such skimpy transparent clothes."
Her gaze shifted towards my current needy state, she narrowed her eyes, "You seriously think buttering me like that will gain you any sort of forgiveness?"
"But," I complained, "Hailey, you're mine..and I have full right to come to you when in need." I reminded her, wryly.
I didn't know why I was holding back.
"That doesn't mean you have the right to tear my gown." She whined, nonstop.
"Fine! I get you a new one." I offered, "Now stop whining like a slut."
She coughed as if she choked on her own saliva, "Wait." She deadpanned, "Did you just call me a.. slut?"
"No..-"
"-Can you just repeat what you said again?" She raised an eyebrow, shooting glares at me.
"That- er, you are my mate," I answered, wagering around in hopes of eloping from her wrath of impassive anger.
"No, after that." She urged, testing me.
"That you whine a lot?" I raised an eyebrow.
Okay, I really needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
"How-" She screeched.
"-Am I allowed to come in, Alpha?" A voice called from outside the door. Both Hailey and I instinctively diverted our gaze towards the door.
"Yeah," I confirmed, allowing permission for the member to walk in.
The door creaked open as one of our pack member's head appeared in sight, "Alpha, there is something important." She said fully opening the door and bowing down in front of us.
"Yes. What is it?"
"Beta Drake called you to meet him on the grounds to the south." She informed her gazed fixed towards the floor.
"Is that it?" I asked.
"Yes." She replied bowing down once again and headed out of the door closing it behind her.
I stood up from the bed, "Now why is he calling me." I groaned.
"Hey, James," Hailey interrupted, a smile appeared in her face, "You better fix your problem before heading out to meet Drake." She chuckled slyly, pointing at my crouch.

I pulled my jeans up, zipping the chain and made my way out of the room. I was relieved, for the first time I was thankful for being interrupted. Drake's timing of interruptions was never good but this time, it turned out to be my saviour. It saved me from being chewed alive by Hailey's anger and I must thank him for that.
James, where are you? Drake mind linked.
I'm almost there. I replied.
I rushed my way towards the grounds to see Drake leaning against a tree. He noticed my appearance and soon retrieved himself from his previous leaned position.
"Finally." He sighed, "Took you long as always."
"This will be the first time when I'll not get pissed- because you really saved my ass today," I said, cheerfully.
He raised an eyebrow, "When?"
"A few minutes ago." I sighed in content, "Saved from the wrath of evil."
He laughed and shook his head, "You are unbelievable." His laughter soon died down as a serious expression formed again.
"So why did you call me so urgently?" I asked, curiously looking around. The grounds were empty. A few blocks away stood the forest surrounding the ground like a circumference of a circle.
"Yeah." He answered, his posture stiffened as he stood straight, awkwardly. "You wouldn't believe this."
"What happened?" I frowned.
"Follow me." He whispered. I nodded and made my way after him. He leads us inside the forest when suddenly a strong scent struck my nostrils.
"What the hell?" I yelled, looking down to see blood covering the soil, the smell of fresh blood roaming around us, "What's going on? Why do I smell blood?"
Drake didn't respond and instead pointed at a tree where near the roots laid a corpse.
The corpse of our pack member.
His head was almost snithed from his body and was only hanging together by a few veins and pieces of skin. He was slaughtered.
"How did this happened?" I demanded an answer from Drake.
"Even I don't know. I was informed by one of the patrol guards an hour ago."
