"I think you should talk to the pack healer and get some advice about this situation," Drake suggested, parking the car right outside the pack house.

"I don't think it's a good idea," I replied, wide-eyed as I shook my head. This was simply not the time that I was going to blow my shit off. I didn't think leaking this news was going to bring anyone any good. I didn't want to lose my position or title as a matter of fact.

It doesn't make it any easier.

Words spread like fire, and here it was a regular thing to deal with. Revealing to the world that I was without a mate right now, would only attract the attention of other pack leaders or abandoned wolves. This in return would lead to an increase in the possibility of our pack getting attacked.

"But we need to look into it," Drake said firmly gripping the steering wheel in front of him. "We can't take any chances."

"I know." I agreed, "Can you just do me a favour?" I asked.

"Sure."

"Just keep it a secret, the entire rejection thing I mean." I trailed off, not knowing how to continue.

"You didn't have to ask." He smiled, "I wasn't planning on telling anyone."

"Thanks," I mumbled getting out of the car.

I closed the door behind me and stood there looking at the pack house. I took a step forward and heard the sound of the car jerk as Drake got out and closed the door.

"Can you–" I trailed off when suddenly I felt the presence of someone near us.

"Shit!" Drake cursed. "Get inside the pack house, fast!" He announced hurriedly grabbing my wrist while rushing inside the pack house.

Once we were inside, Drake sighed, crouching whilst placing his palms on his knees.

"What was that for?" I asked, feeling rather intimidated by the sudden sense of power.

"Don't tell me you didn't feel that." He asked in disbelief, "The sorcerer is on his way here." Drake explained, slightly frowning at me.

"What are you frowning at?" I couldn't help but ask.

"At your knowledge about everything." He rolled his eyes.

I ignored his comment as I made my way towards the library. I needed to take a look at the book of Myths. Something should be written there about my rejection by Alina. The book of myths was originally created by the son of the Moon Goddess. He had the ability to foretell, which inspired him to write it. All the prophesies he made were clearly described in the Book Of Myths. And the interesting fact was that he was blessed by some unknown creature who gave him immense power. The power of the book adding things even after his death. No one knew how he died, but the book was one of his most valuable creations.

Every pack house has their own copy of this ancient book. This was a book that reflected the future, the future of us in this world.

"You shouldn't be standing here," Drake said coming up to me.

"Why, can I not even move around in my own house? Or is there more restrictions for me?" I growled, not liking him nagging me every single time.

He rolled his eyes. "As if you're going to follow any."

"What do you want?" I asked, glaring at him.

"You can not go on like this," he said folding his arms on his chest, "If you keep this attitude up, soon you are going to be called by the Alpha."

"Like I care!" I spat.

"You should, you wouldn't want to lose your position." He calmly stated. I wondered how he always managed to keep his calm composure, no matter how rough the situation was.

"Sorry."

"No, sorry is not enough. You shouldn't treat people like shit and then say 'sorry' just to make it up. Even though you are the future Alpha, you don't have any right to treat people like this." He said, his eyes filled with anger.

I couldn't help but feel guilty. I knew I was treating him badly. He didn't deserve it, any of it. It was not that I didn't try to keep my anger inside, I did. I was just not able to hold onto it anymore.

"You don't know what I am going through. You didn't get rejected as I did." I defended raising my voice but soon realised it was a bad idea. The house was full of wolves and raising my voice would invite more trouble.

"At least you got to see your mate. I don't even know if mine is still alive or not." He replied equally angry as before. "Plus I won't make the same mistakes you did. Do you know what's funny? I warned you. Not once, but several times. But you being your stubborn self didn't listen to me."

"Now you are going to keep on saying 'I told you so', right?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

I was filled with guilt inside.

"No, I won't." He sighed, "The sorcerer is here to warn us not to open the book of myths."

I frowned. "What, why?"

"You know nothing James. It's not good. You're the future Alpha you need to be aware of all this." He shook his head, "There has been a change in fate for which the book of Myth is magically being rewritten."

"Does that mean.." I trailed off as the realisation hit me hard.

"Yes, it must have something to do with your rejection," Drake mumbled under his breath.

"What are you doing here?" A familiar voice called making me stop in my path.

I turned around to see Stacy standing behind holding a glass in her hand.

"Do I need your permission to stroll around my own house?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"I never liked that mouth of yours." She spat glaring at me.

I inhaled trying to calm myself down. I've never had anger issues before but recently I've noticed my anger climbing up to a point where I was only hanging on by a single thread. I was afraid of that breaking point where there would be no turning back for me.

I was trying to avoid Stacy. The situation I was in wasn't helping me either. I didn't have any desire of causing a scene but Stacy was like an awful magnet who always tried her best to attract me to negativity.

"The feeling is mutual." I finally managed to say and turned around facing the door. I took a step forward and was about to walk out when she spoke again.

"I really can not stand you staying in this pack anymore."
