Alina
The sudden appearance of a wolf caught my attention. He jumped up in the air landing right in front of me, inspecting me for a moment. He slowly took steps forward and placed his paw on top of my head. The pain of my bones being readjusted subsided, minimising the effects of dreadful pain I was going through.
James? I called. A part of me was hoping that wolf to be James.
But there was no reply. Only the sound of my screams echoed through the forest.
The soothing effect he had on me was reducing the shifting pain to it's minimal. The cracking noise of my bones kept on echoing as I shifted uncomfortably under his weight. A part me was being healed that I could assure.
Who are you? — He asked while his paw rested on my head. The authority of his voice made me curious.
I mean no harm. I replied, struggling to get out of his manipulative dominance.
The pressure he had to hold onto me increased.
You dared to pass my territory without my permission.— The black wolf growled, pinning me down against the ground.
I was just passing by.
You do know that passing an Alpha's territory without permission is a crime? —He reminded, increasing the embedding power he had held onto me.
I growled at him. I wanted to be set free instead of being crushed under his weight.
I told you this area was marked. — My wolf snorted.
Instead of saying I told you so, just get me out of this situation.
Pardon for my companion's behaviour. She was just being stubborn to listen to me. My wolf said taking over.
Don't dare to run away. He growled slowly withdrawing his paw off of me. I stood on all fours, getting familiar with my new wolf structure. I stretched my sore paws and stood there right in front of the Alpha.
I won't.
You're a rogue and you just shifted inside my territory, where is your mate?
I am a—
Where are the rest of the group? Or did they sent you to pry on my pack? — He growled.
I am not here to pry on you or your pack. I frowned at his accusation.
Then what are you doing here?
I was just passing by. I'm not a spy.
What was up with him asking me the same question repetitively twisting it around?
He is just making sure that we mean no harm to his pack.
Shift! —He ordered.
"Here!" A guy said taking his tee-shirt off and throwing it at my direction. The tee shirt landed right on the ground in front of my paws. I let out a grunt and bent over nibbling at the material as I tried to get a grip of it.
"Go behind that tree," he pointed to my left, "And think about your human form."
The Alpha stood there looking at the guy and in response, he nodded his head.
They are talking through their mind link. — My wolf stated and I nodded in agreement. It was obvious to tell.
I walked behind the tree and shifted back to my human form.
I pulled the tee-shirt on, readjusting its length to cover myself up. What did I get myself involved in?
It's all because you didn't listen to me. — My wolf snorted once again.
Out of all the time to shift, why did you had to shift here?
You said you couldn't walk further so I figured out a way. She said, her voice radiating her pride.
"Come out, Rogue."
If only I could diminish myself into the dark and escape from this hazardous situation. The threat of my death was lingering around in the air which made it suffocating for me to breathe. With every single inhale, I was breathing in poison and the thread my life was hanging onto seemed vulnerable. The chances of me surviving and escaping from the wrath of this Alpha was impossible. If I run, they would get hold of me and if I don't they still had the power of executing me. In both ways, I was the one to be defeated.
The best option right now for me was to surrender.
I slowly made my appearance in front of them, trying my best to stretch the time as far as possible.
My eyes wandered off in search of the black wolf who was nowhere to be seen. Stood near the guy who handed me his tee-shirt was a man. He looked somewhat of the same age as Andrew. Both of them stood there shirtless, their jeans hanging dangerously on their hips, budding out their abs.I blushed as my eyes fixated on their v lines. I looked away.
"What's your name?" The Alpha asked. The authority of his voice clearly described his position.
"Alina Brynn," I said, my voice coming out raspier than intended.
"Wait, you're Alpha Brynn's daughter?" The guy standing beside the alpha gasped.
"Yes?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Then why do you smell like an abandoned wolf?" The Alpha criminated.
"I left my pack."
"What about your mate?" The Alpha furrowed his eyebrows.
"Rejected." I pulled my lips into a thin line, restraining myself from letting out a growl at their interrogation.
"Did you acknowledge the fact that you are a rare breed?" He asked.
"Rare breed?" I frowned.
Now, what the hell does that suppose to mean?
"Since you mean no harm to us, I am most likely going to forgive you for intruding in without permission." He announced.
"Thanks?" I mumbled, gratitude came out more like an uncertain question.
"Do you know how dangerous it is to saunter off with the scent of you being an abandoned wolf?" He paused, "Or do you have any place in mind where you are planning to go?"
"I don't," I whispered with an ambiguous coated voice.
What's up with him trying to initiate a normal conversation with a Rogue? I could have had been a spy for god's sake working for some enemy! And here he was trying to initiate like as if we were friends.
"Join my pack." He smiled, his voice was awfully persuasive.
"Why?" I catechized at his sudden change of mood.
He smirked at my question. "I'm not that bad, Alina." His green orbs were maliciously shiny at my inconclusiveness.
What should we do? — I asked my wolf.
"Asking your wolf for help I see," He interrupted, his lips forming an amoral smile, "Oh, by the way, I'm Luke and this is my Beta Neil," He said pointing at the guy right next to him.
A/N:
*Phew*! Finally done!
What's up with this Luke guy suddenly offering Alina to join his pack? 😰 Or maybe he is just being nice to an abandoned wolf?
