~Shadow's P.O.V~
Shadow sighed, putting a hand on his head. He had a really bad headache all the sudden, and he wasn't sure why. Rouge and Tails ran up beside him, bright smiles on their faces.
"I'm surprised once again at your speed, Shad," Rouge chuckled. "No wonder you're the fastest person here."
"How can you be so fast?" Tails asked.
"I'm not answering questions now, I have places to be. It's still funny you guys try talking to me. Try and be a little faster next time, and then we can talk," Shadow pushed Tails and Rouge out of his way, and skated down the hallway to the main room. He looked around, trying to find Sonic. Sonic opened his locker back up, shoving in his math book. Shadow walked over to him.
"You been studying?" He asked, leaning up on his own locker.
Sonic nodded. "Might as well get prepared for classes. Math's my first class."
Shadow's ears perked. "You already know your class order?"
"Yep!" Sonic smiled. "I'm that fast, aren't I?" He winked, making Shadow chuckle and roll his eyes.
"Yeah, right. So, what all classes do you have?" Shadow's ears twitched.
"Well, my first class is Math, then I move to Science, History, Art and then my last class out of everything has to be Gym. Ew..." Shadow shook his head, rubbing his forehead. His head still hurt after Track Club.
"The only classes I have are first Math, Gym, History, Science and Art."
Sonic smiled, his cheeks turning red. "Well, at least I get to see you every morning for one class."
Shadow chuckled. "I don't have anyone sitting with me in Math, I wouldn't be surprised to see the teacher put you next to me."
Sonic's face lit up bright red but he kept his smile. "Y-yea... I-It would be pretty g-great..."
Shadow almost smiled at this, but kept it from showing, though inside he was smiling. He looked back around the room and then leaned and kissed Sonic on the cheek once more. Sonic chuckled, his entire muzzle was a bright shade of red. Shadow leaned his head against the lockers, rubbing his forehead.
"Your head hurt after your club?"
"This always happens after Track Club," Shadow gave a sigh. "I wish it didn't. It's the worse kind of pain."
Sonic leaned over to Shadow, and stood up enough that he could kiss Shadow's forehead. In just a few seconds, the pain had started to lower. Shadow's cheeks kept a bright pink.
"You're really special, you know that?"
Sonic only shrugged. "I'm not that important."
"I think you are."
"Aww... Shad..." Sonic chuckled leaping over and hugging Shadow. Shadow smiled, wrapping his arms around Sonic. He soon pulled himself away when he saw Maria down the hall. She ran over to Shadow, a sudden brightness in her eyes.
"Shadow, I have great news you'd love to hear! Can we talk alone for a minute?"
"Yes, Maria," Shadow almost sighed at this. He looked at Sonic. "I'll be back, Sonic." Maria grabbed Shadow's hand and dragged him off down the hallway, just a bit away from Sonic.
"Alright, what is it?" Shadow crossed his arms, tapping his foot impatiently. He just wanted to be back with Sonic already.
"Well, you know how I signed up for Glee Club last month?"
"...Yea..."
"Well, of course I got accepted, but guess what they just informed us today."
"What?"
"We're going to be having our own concert in Memory Hall next week, the whole town's gonna be there."
Shadow's eyes widened and his ears flattened. He always feared this would happen. An entire town surrounding such a small stage, who knew what could happen? If they audience liked them so much they'd tear them apart at any chance given.
Shadow then shook his head and tried to act happy for her. "T-that's great! I-I know you'll do well..."
Maria giggled. "Thanks, Shad, I hope dad will let you come to the concert with us!" She leaned down and hugged Shadow before she ran off again. Shadow shivered, turning and walking back to Sonic.
"What did your sister want?" Sonic asked, pulling out a notebook from his locker.
"She was just telling me there was a concert next week for her Glee Club. It actually worries me that something that important is happening so soon, and Memory Hall is one of the biggest parts of town, and yet the whole town will be there."
"Why do you worry so much about it?"
"Because she's so young, and small compared to many of them, who knows what could happen to her? If she got hurt, my father wouldn't accept me at all around her, he'd practically be asking me to move out if anything happen to his precious daughter. He doesn't really care about me any."
Sonic's ears flattened. "I feel sorry for you, but you really don't need to worry so much about your sister. I'm sure she'll be just fine," Sonic turned to look back at Shadow, his eyes saddened. "It's really not that big of a problem. If you did move out though, I could let you live with me and my brother and sister. Sonia and Manic don't go to school here with us, they go to some fancy school a few miles from here. My mom takes them to school every day, so I'm left alone in the morning. It would be nice to have some company."
"I would, but I don't want to break Maria's heart over something like that..."
"I heard what one of the girls said. It was that pink hedgehog."
"Amy?"
"I think that's her. Anyways, she said that she thinks Maria is too attached to living with you. She relies too much on you that she can't focus on anything else."
"Really? Did Amy actually say that?"
"Maria said it herself once, and she doesn't want to live like that anymore." Shadow shook his head. How could she lie to me? Shadow had trusted Maria for so long, and now she betrayed him.
Shadow sighed. "Look, I'll tell you this, if your mom lets me live with you, then I'll get all my stuff that I want and put it in my locker with me, and I can get off the bus with you."
Sonic gave a bright smile. "That'd be great, I'll ask my mom." Sonic leapt up and wrapped his arms tightly around Shadow, almost knocking the black hedgehog over. Shadow only chuckled and wrapped his arms around Sonic. The blue hedgehog happily lay his head on Shadow's chest, almost giving a purr from the comfort. Shadow lay his head on top of Sonic's, pulling him closer.
"It gets lonely in the mornings," Sonic muttered. "It would be great to have someone there with me..."
"I'd always be there for you, like I am now," Shadow smiled and kissed the top of Sonic's head. "I'd never leave you behind."
Sonic sighed, holding tighter onto Shadow. "Thank you."
