~Shadow's P.O.V~

Shadow actually manage to stay quiet as he walked around. He kept his headphones on, but he moved one earpiece off his left ear so he could hear what was going on around him. He moved over just a little to his left so he could hold Sonic's hand as they walked around. Sonic looked up to him, but continued walking, and smiled. Shadow looked through Sonic's thoughts for a moment, and his eyes widened when he saw one of them; Sing for me?
Shadow blushed a little, but chuckled when Sonic realized that Shadow had just seen that thought. "Oh wow, you saw that, didn't you?" Shadow laughed a little.
"Yea, no duh," He smiled. "I can only read thoughts at will, not at random. That'd be weird. I can scroll through your thoughts as well. So I kind of just saw everything you're thinking about right now."
"Uh---! Dude!" Sonic punched Shadow lightly in the shoulder. Shadow faked a little bit of pain; but he knew Sonic could tell the sarcasm in his voice. "Don't be faking, I know you too well for that."
"Just hush," Shadow rolled his eyes and looked back in front of him. Rouge and Amy were quietly singing the song they were listening to, and dancing a little as they walked. "Ugh, those two are so stupid sometimes."
"I couldn't agree more. Amy actually freaks me out a little," Sonic trembled, Shadow could feel it. "She's just so weird, there's really no other way to explain that. I know she's meant to be important, but out of all people to be chosen to help the principal, they choose one of the most annoying people in the school."
"Imagine if they take away her place from her, who do you think would be the new assistant?" Shadow didn't bother trying to read Sonic's thoughts when he looked at him.
"I honestly think you'd be one of the best people for that." Shadow's whole muzzle turned red at this, and his face seemed to glow red as well.
"Y-you have to be joking!"
"I'm not, I really think you'd be a good person for the job."
Shadow didn't know what so say anymore; he'd never got praise like that before. He swallowed hard, trying to hold back his thoughts. "T-thank you, Sonic, but I-I could n-never take on a task such as i-important..." He rubbed the back of his neck; it was starting to hurt a little and he was sure why.
He knew Sonic noticed this, by the fact the grip on his hand grew a little tighter. "Your neck hurting?"
"A little, I'm not sure why though," He sighed. "I don't get why I've been going through so much pain lately."
"Stress, maybe? I mean, we are hanging out with Rouge and Amy right now, and now you know about the concert. I don't really think it's just stress though. It's... something else." Shadow tried reading through Sonic's thoughts, but couldn't find anything that could answer his question.
"Let's just get off this topic for right now," He felt himself falling back into the music as it started over again, and he hummed a little to the beat. Sonic actually did the same. The two ran up ahead of Amy and Rouge, turning back to look at them for a minute, and winking. They both rolled their eyes, and managed to shut their mouths and listen to their music. Sonic and Shadow turned to look back ahead of them; they weren't that far from Memory Hall, Shadow knew that for a fact since he used to live close to it. He was sure he'd find his old house eventually. He and Sonic continued to hum to the beat, and Shadow actually quietly sang to the chorus, but he knew Sonic could hear it, even though he didn't think about it.

When I close my eyes, all I see is me right there, in his front seat
His headlight pouring down my street
I try to forget, but I can't lie
His words keep me up at night

If it's four thirty
And I can't sleep
You don't have to guess
What's keeping me Up at Night
What's keeping me Up at Night

You're keeping me Up at Night
You're keeping me Up at Night~

He had shut his eyes as he was singing, and managed to keep walking in a straight line. The song started over again, but he took his headphones off, and growled at the pain in his ear. Sonic leapt over really quick and jumped up to kiss the tip of his ear, making them both purr a little. They both put the MP3 player away, along with their headphones, and managed to walk in silence for a while.

It seemed like forever before anyone talked again, but Sonic soon spoke up, but he was only loud enough that Shadow could hear him. "I still really think your voice is beautiful."
Shadow laughed a little. "I'd like to hear you singing."
"What? Me? Oh, I can't sing," Sonic chuckled nervously. Shadow read through his thoughts again, and grinned when he found what he was looking for: I really can, I just don't want to...
"I know you can sing, you just need to think of the words," Sonic's eyes widened when he knew Shadow had read his thoughts again. He facepalmed himself, which allowed Shadow to chuckle a little.
"I need to stop forgetting that you can read my thoughts. I don't want to sing," Sonic rubbed his arm in embarrassment.
"Please? For me?"
Sonic sighed, but then smiled. "Alright fine, let me think of a song for a minute." Shadow almost instantly knew the song Sonic was going to sing, and he shut himself out of his thoughts as Sonic started singing.

'Cause even the stars they burnSome even fall to the earthWe've got a lot to learnGod knows we're worth itNo, I won't give up
I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easilyI'm here to stay and make the difference that I can makeOur differences they do a lot to teach us how to useThe tools and gifts we got, yeah, we got a lot at stake

And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intendFor us to work we didn't break, we didn't burnWe had to learn how to bend without the world caving inI had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not, and who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love

I'm still looking up, I'm still looking up.

Sonic kept quiet for a minute, and Shadow didn't know anything he could say. His voice is just so... beautiful... It's amazing he hasn't tried to join the Music Club yet. Sonic soon looked up to Shadow, who was still struggling to find words to say.
"...Well?" He asked quietly. Shadow stared into Sonic's eyes, and he soon found the words to say.
"I honestly don't know what to say, but I do know this," He leaned down a little to Sonic. "I can't try and avoid a person with a voice so perfect. Yours is even better than mine. I actually thing we should sing together sometime."
Sonic's face turned bright pink. "R-really?" Shadow nodded, and a bright smile stuck to Sonic's face. His eyes seemed to sparkle in the oncoming moonlight, and he leapt onto Shadow, pressing his face to the other hedgehog's chest. Shadow chuckled, wrapping his arms around Sonic, holding him tightly. Sonic soon pulled back a bit and perked up a little so he could lightly kiss Shadow for just a few seconds. They continued walking again, keeping their hands locked together. Shadow begged that he'd never have to let go of Sonic's hand. I want to hold on to him forever, and I'll keep a hold onto him, even if I lose my own life doing so.
Shadow looked down to Sonic for a moment, and was glad to see the blue hedgehog was looking up at the sky, stars shining in his eyes. I hope I don't have to give up someone so perfect.
