~Shadow's P.O.V~

Waking up early was difficult for Shadow today, not just because of his fear, but he'd never liked waking up early after having to get up in the middle of the night. It was harder for Shadow now to do this assembly when he knew Sonic still needed him. He didn't want to leave the poor hedgehog by himself. Shadow's head started to hurt as he walked outside with Aleena.
"You're still sure you don't want to stay home today?" Aleena asked him as she walked to her car.
"I'm sure, there's no one else to take my part," Aleena could probably tell of the fear in Shadow's voice, just by the way he looked at the ground as he said that. "I don't want to be humiliated because I didn't come, nobody in the class knows my part because we practice them on our own and it would be too difficult for them to learn it."
"If you're completely positive about that, then I guess there's no stopping you," Aleena opened the door and stepped into the driver's seat. Shadow followed her into the passenger seat. He shivered as he stepped in; he really didn't want to do this. He leaned back against the seat and shut the door. He especially hated the outfit he had to wear; one of the colors he really hated to wear, out of everything, was white. It wasn't exactly a color like black or gray, but he still didn't like it. It wasn't just because it was the opposite of his own fur color, but it hurt his eyes to look at it. He had always loved dark colors, the only bright color he liked was blue; it seemed like such a beautiful color. Not because of the water in the oceans, lakes, or rivers; not just because of the sky, it was Sonic's fur that made him love the color. I bet Sonic loves black and red now as well, Shadow chuckled to himself.
Before he had known it, they were heading off to the school, which only made Shadow more nervous. I hope this goes well...

~Sonic's P.O.V~

"Hey Sonic, where's Shadow?" Amy leapt up from her seat behind Sonic and jumped into his.
"He's doing the assembly that you messaged him about yesterday," Sonic rose an eyebrow at the pink hedgehog; out of all people, she should've known what the students were doing though she was one herself.
"How'd you know about the assembly? You've barely been here a day," Amy narrowed her eyes.
"He showed me the message, I never got one."
"It's probably because he's been at the school longer than you have."
"Yeah, like I didn't know that." Sonic rolled his eyes. She's one of the most annoying students in the school and she get's to be the assistant of the principal? How can they even stand her? Sonic rubbed his forehead as so many thoughts went through his head. It hurt him to think of anything with the pressure of his child holding him back. He looked down to his stomach, which had swelled up just a little bit during the night. He gave a small sigh.
"Are you okay, Sonic?" Amy scooted over to him, but he moved over to the window, leaning against it. "You act like something's wrong. You wanna tell me? That's what I'm here for."
"It's nothing, really," Sonic looked out the window. Nothing at all.
"Are you sure?" Amy really sounded worried about him. Sonic didn't want her help. Not her's, not anyone's, all he wanted right now was Shadow. He didn't want Shadow to be afraid of anything. And he shouldn't be embarrassed about it either. Sonic understood all too well how fear can phase people. He was a victim of it once when he was still young, and that was before Sonia and Manic were born. They were the only thing that helped Sonic through his hardships. Shadow almost had no one since he moved out of his house. The only person he had was Sonic, and Sonic wanted to do everything he could to help the other hedgehog.
"I'm fine, Amy, just go back to your seat," Sonic half glared at her. He really wanted her to leave him alone. She held her hands up and went back to her seat where she started talking with a white bat. Sonic didn't know many of the people in the school, but he picked up names and personalities from Shadow; sadly, the black hedgehog couldn't help Sonic at the moment. I might be able to help him during the assembly, there may be preparations needed to be made if they aren't done already. He looked over at the blonde girl sitting in the seat next to him. She wore a dress with a light blue skirt and blue long-sleeved top. Sonic almost instantly remembered who she was; Shadow's sister, Maria. He didn't dare talking to her for fear of what she might say about Shadow.
Maria looked over to Sonic. Once the bus stopped moving, she leapt over to his seat. "Hi. You're Sonic, right?"
"Yea?" He was surprised Maria tried talking to him.
"You know my brother, Shadow."
"He was my first friend. Why do you ask?"
"I have something to ask you."
Sonic almost felt scared to hear the question. "W-what's that?"
"Well, he moved out of my house a while ago. I heard Amy say he started living with you. Is there any reason?"
Sonic really wasn't in the mood to explain everything to her. He didn't really want to talk at all. "No, he hasn't told me." He hated lying, but he didn't want to explain everything to Maria. He'd rather sit by himself and keep his mouth shut. Maria reminded him too much of Shadow, she was Shadow's sister after all.
"Are you sure?" Sonic only nodded. Maria finally seemed to understand, and she moved back to her seat to grab her stuff to go into the school. Sonic was the last off the bus, he'd rather be behind everyone else than to be right in the middle of it. He stayed away from many other people once he got off to walk into the school. He dashed into the school before any other students of his grade were able to get through the door. Lucky for having super speed, I'm faster than anybody here, if Shadow isn't. He walked inside to his locker. Notes were inside all the lockers and everyone was to go to the gymnasium for the assembly. Some students were said to stay behind, some had to go and help with preparations. Hopefully Sonic would see Shadow there. He followed the other students said to go, since he still didn't remember the whole school's hallways and classrooms yet.
Sonic was surprised at how many people were in the gym helping. Some of the people said to work in the assembly were practicing for it and other's weren't doing very much. His eyes soon widened and he smiled when he found the person he was looking for.

~Shadow's P.O.V~

"You still sure you're ready for this?" Blaze asked Shadow, who was pacing the floor beside her and Silver.
"I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be fine," Shadow almost growled. He just wanted to get this over with.
"You still seem nervous," Silver put one hand in front of Shadow to stop him. "You gonna be alright?"
Shadow's ears flattened; he kept running out of excuses. He pushed Silver out of his way. "I'm sure I'm perfectly capable doing a stupid assembly, no matter how embarrassing I might look."
"You have to be worried about that, it's not all that simple to be embarrassed in front of the school like that."
Blaze almost slapped Silver at this. "You idiot! Do you want to make him anymore upset?!" She looked at Shadow just to notice he was shaking and his fur was starting to turn bright red. He clenched his hands into fists as he tried to prevent himself from beating Silver senseless.
"Sorry! I kinda lost myself there!" Shadow gave a low growl, and Silver backed up slightly, but ended up tripping on his own feet.
"Keep your outbursts to yourself, or I won't be so nice next time," Shadow's fur fell back to its original shade of black. He crossed his arms as he continued to glare at Silver until he stood up. Tails flew down to the small group.
"We still have a few more people coming to help with preparations, but your grade is here now, all classes."
"Good," Shadow rubbed his forehead, he felt like it was bruised by how hard he had been thinking to hold back his anger when Silver had pissed him off. Luckily Blaze was there to shut him up, at least she tried.
"Shadow, by the way," Tails scratched the back of his head. "Sonic's here as well, he's talking with Amy and Rouge at the moment, but, he said for me to come tell you he wants to see you for a moment."
Shadow nodded. "Did he say what he wanted?"
Tails shook his head. "He said he wasn't gonna talk to anyone but you about this. He's over on the bleachers by the door."
"Alright." Shadow gave a glare at Silver and made him fall down again before he walked off to find Sonic.
