~Sonic's P.O.V~

It seemed like Sonic waited forever outside the school for Shadow. Sonic had said he wanted to walk home today, mostly just because he wanted to be outside for once instead of cooped up in his house or on the bus. Not only that, but he wanted to help Shadow calm down since he understood the fear he went through doing the assembly. He thought it was amazing someone with such a huge fear could get over it for such a short moment just to do something he loved. His voice was really perfect as he sang, I can't help but think of it. Sonic kept replaying the song over and over in his head just so he could hear Shadow singing.
Sonic perked his ears as he heard Amy and Rouge's voices. He turned to see them step outside the school with Shadow, who was clearly irritated at their constant chattering. He pushed them apart for a minute and walked between them so he could run over to Sonic. They both hugged almost instantly, and Sonic could feel that Shadow was still shaking a little.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you after all that," Shadow pulled back a bit, but kept his arms around Sonic, who did the same to him. "I can only imagine the pain you had to deal with."
"I was able to get over it just by hearing your beautiful voice," They both chuckled a little; I think he's actually getting used to me saying these things. Surprising I'm not used to him saying things like that...
"Well... I-I did have a l-lot of practice before hand..." The black hedgehog stuttered a little by saying this, and his face was just about as red as his streaks.
"I can tell," Sonic looked over to Rouge and Amy, seeing they were happily engaged in conversation and were paying no attention to them. Sonic smiled at this and moved his hands up to the sides of Shadow's head, just so he could pull him down for a quick kiss. They both pulled away afterwards, and then Shadow turned back to Rouge and Amy.
"Alright are you idiots gonna sit there and talk all day or are we leaving?" He almost yelled at them from the tone of his voice.
"Hold on, I have something personal to tell Rouge before we go," Amy said. She leaned over and whispered in the bat's ear. "Okay done, let's go home!"
"Finally," Rouge and Amy ran over to them, rubbing the backs of their heads and quickly apologizing for how annoying they were being, as they could clearly tell Shadow was tired of it. "Let's just go before I end up slapping one of you." He turned and started walking off with them.
"We could actually do a quick run around town before we go home, we've barely been able to go outside at all this school year and my parents won't let me go outside anyways," Amy said, running up to walk beside Shadow. "I think it would be fun getting to hang out with you guys for once!"
"Don't push it, Pinky."
"Sorry! If you don't want to, t-that's fine." Amy's voice shook a little as she spoke.
Rouge glided over to them. "Amy, you really need to knock it off. You're not seriously afraid of him, are you?"
Shadow almost laughed at this. "Yea she is, she always has been, haven't you?" Amy nervously nodded her head, and she looked ahead of her when she realized Shadow was glaring at her. She could just feel his gaze in her fur it seemed.
"Let's get off this topic why don't we?" Sonic jumped between Amy and Shadow, looking between both of them for a moment. "So, where should we go? There isn't much to see around town at this time of day."
"It's just a quick little walk, but we can decide somewhere to go," Rouge tapped her forehead as she tried to think.
"I heard there was gonna be some sort of concert going on in Memory Hall." Amy thought a moment.
Shadow froze, and Sonic looked at him with concern until he remembered what was going on there. "Wait- That concert's for your sister's club, isn't it?"
"YES, it is! Damn it I can't believe I forgot about that!" Shadow covered his eyes in his hands, and Sonic almost instantly knew Shadow was gonna start crying soon. Sonic wrapped his arms around Shadow, which made the other hedgehog lower his own arms just so he could hug Sonic as tight as possible. Sonic didn't even care; he just wanted to comfort his love, no matter if it hurt him.
Amy and Rouge looked back at them; they hadn't even noticed what had happened, and then they ran back to them.
"Shadow?" Amy's voice was full of concern. "What's wrong?"
Sonic snapped his head back to look at her, and he gave a low growl, which made her leapt back. "It's that stupid concert you mentioned in Memory Hall, Maria's involved in that, don't you get ANYTHING?!" Sonic felt tears starting to pool in his eyes, and he shut them tightly, turning back and hiding his face in Shadow's shoulder as he himself started crying.
"Oh dear..." Amy was almost crying as well. "Oh god, Shadow I'm so sorry I-I should've know!"
"It wasn't your fault, you didn't know..." Shadow's voice was quiet, but Sonic knew that it was just loud enough all four of them could hear. They pulled away from eachother, wiping the tears from their faces. Shadow shook his head. "I'm just worried for her. Actually, Amy, do you know when the concert is?"
Amy pulled out a small schedule and looked over it. "It'll be starting in an hour. Do you wanna go?"
"If it means seeing my sister, then yes."
"Alright, I'll call my parents and tell them we'll be staying out until the concert's over." Amy and Rouge both phoned their parents, and Sonic pulled his phone out of his backpack, going ahead and texting Aleena. He tried to be short with the message, there was so much that he wanted to tell his mother that he didn't think he could make it short enough, but he just said he and Shadow wouldn't be home for a while, and that they'd be back in a few hours. After a few minutes, Aleena texted back to him saying that was alright, and that she was getting worried anyways. She also said she hoped they'd be safe, and she sent a quick photo of herself smiling. Sonic chuckled at this; his mom always knew the best ways to give him just what he asked for, even if he didn't say it. He always loved seeing his mother smile.
Rouge and Amy then got off the phone with their parents. "Alright, everything's good. I'll need to head straight home after the concert though. Me and Rouge are having a sleepover tonight, so you guys don't really need to walk with us if you don't want to."
"That's fine," Sonic felt so relieved that he didn't have to walk with them; they were irritating enough as is.
"I almost forgot to mention..." Shadow pulled his backpack off his shoulders and dug through it, which half confused Sonic. His eyes felt like they were shining as he pulled out four backstage passes for the concert.
"WHOA! How did you get those?!" Amy's eyes sparkled, and a large smile was on her face.
"Maria gave them to me a while ago, and she said that I could keep them for every concert she went too; they're forever valid, and you don't need to get a new one just to go backstage again," Shadow actually smiled saying this, minus the fact that he mentioned Maria. Sonic finally started understanding Shadow was over Maria betraying him, and Sonic knew he still loved his sister with all his heart, no matter what she did.
"You all can have one if you want, this would be the perfect opportunity to see her. I know you two idiots are best friends with her after all. Not a day went by at home when she would blabber on and on about you two." Amy and Rouge both giggled at this, and everyone took a pass, hanging it around their neck.
"This is gonna be so FUN!" Amy almost squealed saying this. "I haven't talked to Maria in so long!"
"I have!" Rouge giggled. "I still call her all the time. We stay in calls for hours just talking to eachother. I once stayed up until 2 AM talking to Maria, it was funny, we didn't even realize how late it was. Well, then my mom walked in on me and told me I needed to get off. Then she showed me the time and I freaked out!" Everyone laughed at this. I didn't think I'd be friends with Rouge, but I guess not all bats are 'bad,' Sonic thought, managing to keep his smile.
"Should we go early? I bet we could get some AWESOME stuff in Memory Hall. I could hang out there for hours if I could!" Amy giggled. "It's really fun. Down there they have games, and awesome stores, and they even have free stuff out if people don't take it all."
"I've only been to Memory Hall a few times since I came to the school," Sonic crossed his arms. "But it isn't so great that you have to shout about it and run around for hours talking about it or being there."
Amy blushed a little, pulling back her bangs. "Well, you have a point there." She let her bangs fall again, and Sonic trembled as he realized what she was trying to do.
"I think you might wanna back off with the hair-flow, Rose," Sonic shook his head in disapproval.
"Oh come on!" Amy tapped her foot with her fists at her sides. "I can have a little bit of time to crush, give me a break!"
Shadow moved in front of Sonic and growled at Amy. "Lay off."
Amy trembled and backed up a bit. "S-sorry!"
"Wait, Shadow do you like him?" Rouge rose an eyebrow, and her cheeks were a little bit pink.
"I don't like him," Shadow turned to look back at Sonic for a minute and smiled. "I love him, and I'm not afraid to admit that." He leaned over for a quick second and kissed Sonic lightly on the cheek. Shadow wasn't even blushing at this; Sonic's face, on the other hand, was bright red. Amy and Rouge covered their mouths, and Amy had given a muffled "Aww," at the kiss.
"Can I just mention how cute this is?" Rouge chuckled, uncovering her mouth.
Shadow snapped back around to look at her. "Who are you calling cute?" Sonic flattened his ears and tried to hide behind Shadow. Out of all people, he has to be the one to embarrass me in public!
"Nothing, nothing!" Rouge's eyes were a little wide with fear at this. She slipped on her headphones and pulled out an MP3 player. She started listening to music as she tried to avoid any more confrontation with Shadow. Amy pulled out her own headphones and plugged them in to Rouge's music player. Sonic then pulled Shadow's MP3 player out of his backpack, luckily without Shadow noticing. He plugged his headphones in, which made Shadow turn to look back at him. Sonic handed Shadow his headphones, and smiled, blushing only a tiny bit now. Shadow smiled, slipping them over his ears. He then leaned down for a minute and whispered to Sonic.
"Remind me not to have these on for too long," He winked when he finished that sentence.
Sonic giggled, almost in a girlish way. "Don't worry, I will." Sonic scrolled through his music list, and he found Shadow's favorite song in his list. He tapped lightly on it and started playing the song. When Shadow realized what the song was, he lightly hugged Sonic, just for a moment. All four of them then started walking down the street to Memory Hall, all listening to music.
