~Sonic's P.O.V~

Once the two had finished cleaning and Aleena had gotten home, they had went to bed early. Luckily Aleena let them sleep together. Sonic woke up in the middle of the night when his side had started hurting. He wanted to go downstairs so he could take his mind off of it, but he was afraid of Aleena waking up, or his siblings for that matter. He decided it wouldn't really matter that much, and he pulled himself away from Shadow until he could climb out of bed without waking the other hedgehog. Shadow stirred the slightest, but didn't open his eyes. Sonic smiled, opening the door as quietly as possible and sneaking downstairs. What he really wanted to do was find his mother's pregnancy tester, she had never abolished the part of the world where male pregnancy could still happen, so Sonic wanted to make sure, just in case. Luckily Aleena had left it on the table.
Glad I know what to do, Sonic muttered to himself. He had watched his mom do a test at least once a day, and even now he still wondered why she kept doing them. She wasn't going to get pregnant again, not after Sonic's father walked out on them. She always said she just wanted to be sure in case cells remained after Sonia and Manic were born. Sonic shook his head, pulling it off the table; he just hoped it wouldn't damage his mother's testing afterwards. He only held for a moment with it before he looked. His eyes widened as his ears flattened when he realized it was positive; he only knew because of the symbols on it that his mother showed him. Well that went well...
Sonic's ears perked again when he heard footsteps behind him and he set the tester back on the table, backing away from it. He didn't know who had gotten up, but he had almost recognized the footsteps.
"So that's what you got up for?" Sonic jumped at the sound of Shadow's voice, which only made his cheeks turn bright red when he realized Shadow had watched him test.He probably knew it was positive, too...
"Um..." Sonic wanted to make up an excuse, but he knew Shadow was no fool. He gave a sigh, turning to face the black hedgehog. "Yeah... I guess you saw me test. You probably watched close enough to know it was-"
"Positive?" Shadow finished his sentence. "Yes, I know. I thought it was pretty obvious. I had felt it when you hugged me."
"I only kind of knew of it because my side was hurting." Sonic looked down to his side, happy to see it hadn't been bruised, though it was still sore.
"I know that's hurting you," Shadow's ears flattened. "Did we go too far..?"
"No, I can live with this, it might be difficult for a while, though," Sonic scratched behind his ear as it twitched.
"Are you sure you can handle it?"
"I've never been more sure of anything. I'm only doing this for you." Sonic almost felt as though his eyes were shining in the dark room, just as Shadow's were. The blue hedgehog gave a bright smile and leapt over to the other, hugging him tightly. "I'm glad to know you understand."
Shadow smiled, but didn't say anything, he just hugged the other hedgehog in silence unlike other times. He wanted to keep his voice down but he didn't want to talk either. He crouched down slightly and picked Sonic up. He chuckled and carried Sonic back up the stairs to their room. He set the blue hedgehog down on the bed and crawled in beside him. Sonic half threw himself under the covers but remembered he still had to be careful as he rolled onto his side. He scooted over to Shadow, shivering the slightest; he didn't seem as warm now suddenly.
Shadow pulled Sonic over to him, his arms held tightly onto the small hedgehog. He didn't want to hurt him, but didn't want him to lay there cold. Shadow shut his eyes halfway, letting Sonic curl up against him and tightly hold him. Sonic shut his eyes and gave a small sigh, finally falling asleep in Shadow's arms.
