My mom came in my hospital room with my work. I looked at Hayes, and then he sat in my hospital bed with me helping me out. I looked up at Max and he was taking pictures.

"5 dollars for a picture mister," I said sarcastically.

"I'm a photographer miss, infact I took the pics of you two." Max gave me a smirk and I didn't know how to react.

"Babe, classwork remember?"

"Ya, I remember," I said quietly. Then I grabbed my pencil and started to work. I looked at Hayes, he was explaining how to do the work. He looked so cute being a little nerd. "You're cute when you act smart." He looked up at me and bit his lip.
"It's not an act," he said sophisticatedly. "In fact, I'll just do the work for you because I'm so nice and smart." I pulled his chin to my face and kissed him. "I knew you would do that," he winked at me. Then he started to do my work. My Mom, or Max weren't in the room anymore. "I'm gonna go look for them." He left the room and then Max walked in.

"Hayes is looking for you." He walked up to me and laid in the bed. "Whatcha think you're doing?" I asked and scooted away a little bit.

"I'm gonna tell you that I have feelings for you." He leaned in for a kiss. I punched his face.

"What are you-" I got cut off because Max's lips were on mine. I tried pulling away, but he held my head. I finally hit him and he got off my face. He got out of the hospital bed.
"Our secret." I started to tear. What if Hayes finds out and it's not the right story? I was so nervous. "Why the tears?"

"Get out."

"Was it the kiss?" he asked. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it, you're beautiful and I like you a lot." He walked over to me. "I won't tell if you don't" I wiped my tears away.

"Please leave," my voice was faint. Max started to walk out, then he turned around and gave me his phone number. "Out!" He left, and I was stupid enough to put his number in my phone. Hayes came in my room. He sat next to me in the bed.

"Are you ok?"

"Yea, just a little confused. If a girl kissed you, and you didn't kiss her back, would you tell me?" I asked. "Be honest Hayes," I sternly said. Hayes looked down.

"Yea, I guess Max told you I kissed Veronica. Babe she came onto me, then I pushed her," Hayes' voice was low.

"Max didn't tell me anything" I felt tears coming, it was like a river dam about to break. "You kissed Veronica? How could you?" my voice shook.

"She came onto me, she was walking in the halls before and she pushed me up against the wall and kissed me, but I pushed her off me. I should've told you. I'm sorry." I saw his eyes get red. Hayes' river dam was about to break too.

"Max kissed me. He took my head and he didn't let go. I tried to pull away, but he didn't let go," I started to breath heavy, "I finally hit him, and then he left." I was crying and I placed my head on Hayes' shoulder. He put his arm around me, and held me. I don't know why I am so shaken up.
