Aria’s Birthday

I woke up to the sound of pots and pans banging together and that really made me mad. What the bloody hell was my mum doing in the kitchen for me to hear the pots and pans all the way up in my room? I groaned and stumbled out of my bed. Suddenly, my mum’s unicorn Patronus came through my window and stopped in front of me. “Aria, your dad and I have gone shopping before you party tonight. We have some things to pick up. Happy birthday, Princess.” The unicorn said in my mum’s voice then disappeared. I panicked a little. If Mum and Dad were gone, who was in my kitchen? I grabbed my wand from the nightstand and walked down the stairs quietly. My heart was racing as I got to the bottom of the stairs and turned the corner into the kitchen. The room was empty and I lowered my wand. Could I have been hearing things? No. I definitely heard something down there.

Suddenly, I felt something splatter onto my head and some white goo ran down my hair and to my bare feet. I turned around and I saw Fred and George standing there. “Happy birthday!” The two of them laughed.

I opened my mouth to yell at them for doing this but George cut me off before I could say a word. “Did you do something with your hair?” He asked. “Well, you missed some spots.” He cracked two eggs and emptied them on my hair.

I gasped and they laughed. “I… I’ll get you back!” I yelled at them and grabbed the bowl of whatever Fred had and poured it on his head.

“Aria!” Fred yelled and touched his head. He groaned and ran upstairs.

I looked at George evilly and he backed up at little bit from me. “I’m sorry.”

“Oh well.” I grinned and ran towards him.

I slipped on some of the goo and tumbled onto George. He caught me in his arms and the bowl fell to the ground. The two of us laughed and I looked up at him. He was looking down at me and he held me to him. Our laughing started to stop and he started to lean down closer to my face. I could almost feel his lips on mine and smell his cinnamon breath and knew we were gonna kiss. Suddenly, more of the goo substance got dumped on both of us and I screamed; hiding my face into George’s chest. Fred laughed hysterically and I looked at him angrily. I groaned and looked up at George. He looked disappointed and he let me go. I sighed and looked both of them.

“What are you guys doing here anyways?” I asked.

“We were gonna make you pancakes for breakfast the muggle way.” Fred answered.

“Then we couldn’t make the batter right so we thought of a different use.” George said.

I nodded and said, “Well, I’m gonna shower. You two better wash the kitchen and yourselves up before my parents get home. “ I told them.

“Ok. But first.” Fred said and poured the rest of the goo on me.

I just stood there and looked at George. He was looking at me too and Fred didn’t even seem to notice. He walked into the kitchen and laughed while George and I stood there; staring at each other.

“Happy birthday!” Voices cheered and woke me up on March twenty-second.

I looked up tiredly and saw my parents, Jude, Lucy, Max, and my aunt Terry. I smiled and sat up in my bed. My mum was holding a plate of strawberry pancakes that were covered in whip cream, strawberries, and syrup like they were every year on my birthday. “Thanks, guys.” I told them and Mum put the plate on my lap.
