"And it's hard to hate someone once you understand them."

-Lucy Christopher

Éclair's P.O.V

The pounding of my head and rumbling of my stomach woke me up from my sleep.

I blinked a couple of times before having a clear view of my surrounding.

"You sleep like a pig."
The place was dim.

The devious smile on the man's face was enough clue that he doesn't like to answer questions.
One look from him, you'll know you're facing danger.

"Here."

He slid a tray of pasta and red juice right past the bars.

Now this is unexpected.

"Huh! Th-thank you."
I said so even if this isn't enough to satisfy my hunger.

He let out a devilish laugh.

"I didn't know a Royal blood is capable of saying those words. Especially to the man who abducted her."

I moved a bit closer to the tray to see his face more clearly. He was the man who deceived me and disguised himself as an old woman.

"What's your point?"
I gulped a drink and had my way to the pasta.

He laughed again with a louder voice this time. But, it wasn't devilish. I think he's showing his real emotion.

"You're something else alright. Ahahaha you didn't even consider that the food might have poison.

I gasped.

I can't believe I just ate it in front of him!
No! Coughing, I tried to spew the food.

His laughter didn't die down.

" I sold you to the underground economy. You're going to be auctioned."

He walked to the door.

"Thank you."
I said.

"Are you mocking me or are you trying to win my pity so that I would release you?!"
He seemed angry.

"Huh! I just said that because even though you abducted me, locked me up and sold me, you still gave me food and didn't harm me."

For a moment I thought there was kindness in his eyes.
And something else,...perhaps... Regret?

I wasn't sure what it was because he hid it behind his hardened face.He walked out the room after slamming the door.

I rested my head on the wall thinking of a way for me to escape...

Without killing anyone.

Maud's P.O.V

"Agh!! That hurt you bitch!"
I gave him the last blow before sending him to slumber.

Real shit.
He fights like a baby!

His grunt was even shitter.

But, that familiar of  Lady Éclair was the shittest.

He didn't leave a single mafia member for me to fight! It's so frustrating!

"What's wrong flat chested girl? You seem really pissed. "
I glared at the prince who insulted me.

"What did you just call me, peepsqueek?!"

Ryuu patted his shoulder.
"Shoú don't say that to Maud."

"TSS. You're always on her side Ryuu."

He shook his head.

"I'm always on your side. That's why I don't want you to speak bad things about people."

"What am I a child?!"
He exclaimed.

"You look like one." I fired back.

"Heard that Ryuu? She just mocked me!. Can I kill her now?"

"I'd like to see you try peepsqueek!"

He stood up ready to fight but  Ryuu hit both of our heads.

"That hurt!!" We both said in unison.

And then,

"Pftahaa haha haha haha"
We laughed like there's no tomorrow.

"Gomenasai Maud-chan. It's just that I don't want to see your cute face grumpy."

Awwee. He's really bipolar but soo sweet.

"I'm sorry too. It's just that Raven didn't leave any mafia member for me to strangle. I want them to pay for kidnapping lady Éclair."

"Yeah. He beat the crap out of all these guys. I'm amazed he didn't kill them." Shoú stated while shaking his head.

"Yeah." -Ryuu

"Still, he only left a mosquito for me to fight!!! There's no fun in it."

"He said he was one of the leaders right?"
-Shoú

"Yeah. But he was too weak."

I complained. He really was weak. I bet he hid somewhere that's why Raven didn't spot him when he beat these guys.

"So where are we heading now?" Shoú asked perching on Ryuu's back.

"We're going down the cellars to get lady Éclair." I answered.

We walked through the hall way.

"Why? Raven might have brought her home already."

"No. He called me before we reached the headquarters of Griefvard mafia. He said he still has to take care of something that's why we should go and get lady Éclair back ourselves."

"Oh. Okay!"
Shoú said cheerfully.

He probably can't bring himself to face Lady Éclair yet.
