I open my eyes groggily, groaning in pain as someone continuously smacks my forehead with their open palm.
"It's working! I told you he'd come around if I kept hitting him!" The voice is echoed, but not completely unrecognisable.
"Kier, piss off." I mutter. Opening my eyes wide enough and then blinking a few times to focus my blurred vision, I see my red-fringed idiot of a friend leaning over me, grinning like a Cheshire cat as he continues to smack me on my forehead.
"He's alright? What even happened?" I hear a girl ask. For a second I just let my brain register the voice as belonging to a concerned stranger; but then it clicks, and I begin to feel sick. That's Aryssandra's voice... Why am I hearing Aryssandra's voice? Why is she here?!
"He's fine. He walked into a door, is all." I hear Laurence reassure her. I note how his voice is tainted with something, but I can't tell what exactly.
"What happened to Drew?! Is he okay?!" I hear Shane exclaim, his voice increasing in volume as he comes closer. I sit up, rolling my eyes.
"I'm fine. I just..." I glance up at Shane, and then gulp, glancing slightly to the left at Aryssandra. They're both here...? Shit...
"I'm so glad you're okay!" Arys squeaks, practically flying forward and flinging her arms around my neck quickly.
"Uhm...what're you doing here, Arys?" I ask quickly, confusion and panic rippling through my mind. She shouldn't be here! This shouldn't be happening! Why the hell is she even here?!
"Uhm...I have a hospital appointment, so on the way there I figured I had time to grab a coffee." She explains. I cock an eyebrow, but then just shrug, pushing to my feet and helping her up too.
"Hi again, Arys." Shane pastes on a smile. "Nice seeing you again."
"Oh, hi! I... Fancy seeing you guys here, huh." She smiles, scratching the back of her head thoughtfully.
"Fancy joining us for some coffee?" Luke asks dismissively, plopping down on a chair and cradling a takeaway coffee cup to his chest. Arys shrugs, whilst Kier sniggers to himself; ah, the ongoing joke about coffee...
"I might as well; my appointment isn't until four." She drops down opposite the bearded man, smiling, and the rest of us in turn all take a seat around the table. "So, you're all headed back to London?" Arys suggests. We all nod. Shane shoots me an odd look, Laurence scowls at me from behind his black fringe, and Kier just sits snickering about coffee, still looking wary as Luke mock-scowls at him.
"Do you need an ice-pack or anything, Wooly?" Shane frets, leaning across the table and poking at my forehead, which is just really damn painful.
"Ow. No. I'm fine. Please just stop poking my forehead-" Kier slaps my forehead again, chuckling to himself. "Why, Kemp? Why?" I look at him incredulously, and he just continues to chuckle.
"Kee, enough. Leave the poor sheep alone." Laurence sighs, folding his arms on the table and flopping his head on top of them. "God knows he's got enough to deal with right now." He shoots me a wicked, almost evil grin, and then hides his face again. Kier continues to smack my forehead without a word, and I grit my teeth and try to put up with it; I feel like shouting, but if I shout then of course everyone will think something is up, because I'm never the type of person that shouts for random reasons...
"What do you mean?" Shane and Arys ask at the same time. I just roll my eyes.
"Nothing." I mutter, before glancing at Arys. I notice how there are dark circles forming under her eyes, and her face looks pale, her expression almost forlorn. Did she find out about something whilst I was...I mean, whilst I was unconscious? Bugger. "Are you okay?" I ask her quietly. She just shrugs.
