So if you've ever watching YouTube, (if you haven't you're a monster), but you should see the beauty gurus on there. I'm not bashing on anyone, but the beauty guru YouTubers are so obsessed with messy and effortless looks.
Their hair is messy. Their clothes and outfit choices are effortless. Everything is so 'messy'. They've practically invented the 'messy bun'.
They are so obsessed with it, that if you see in their morning routines, it's all about making the hair look effortless. They always want to pull out some baby hairs to make it seem like they didn't work hard on it. It takes me about 10, Freaking, MINUTES TO PERFECT THE MESSY BUN. Why would I want to mess up the thing I worked so hard on. If something took me that long, I want people to think and see that I worked pretty damn hard.
Now for outfits. Again, obsessed with the messy and effortless look. They always think that cutting up an expensive pair of Urban Outiftters Jeans is cool. I've been in that store once and took a good look at that price tag. I think I was actually about to cry. I walked right out. And same with Victoria Secret Pink. I saw a YouTuber cut one of these to make a crop top. Honestly, if I did that, I would cry every snip I made. I walk into that store only for bras. I wanted to look at their outfits, never mind, I walked right out. And all these 'effortless and messy' outfits are for a Video. If I spent that much on jeans from Urban or a sweater from Victoria Secret. I want people to know that I spent that much.
