I unlock my front door rushing in quickly and locking it back. Clayton had just dropped me off, the whole car ride was awkward and silent, we didn't even talk about what happened back their and I don't think we ever will.

I see the light from the kitchen illuminating into the hallway. I hang my keys on the key hook and throw my bag on the ground by the door.

I walk into the kitchen to see Gammy sitting at the table with her glasses on, reading over a packet of papers. Her grey hair was sticking up in all different directions. He robe was hanging loosely on her shoulder and she looked unhealthy and skinny, the bags under her eyes shows she hasn't slept, she hasn't talked to me since pops died, over all she looked a mess.

I walk into the kitchen going to the cupboard. Gammy continued to go over her papers ignoring my presence. I filled the kettle with water and set it on the hot stove. I waited for the kettle to whistle, picking it up off the stove and making Gammy some tea.

I walk over to her, setting it down in front of her and sitting across from her.

"It'll help you sleep." I say.

She just grabs the cup taking a sip and continuing to scan through the papers.

I clear my throat, "I get my cast off tomorrow, their taking it off early." I say. She nods, still looking at her papers.

I sigh, "Gammy-"

"The funerals Friday," she says, cutting me off.

I sit their with my mouth open trying to find the words to say as my mouth moves up and down like a fish.

"Oh." Is all I can muster up to say.

She continues flipping through papers.

"Gammy." I say, pleadingly.

She sighs, looking at me with sorrowful eyes.

"I'm sorry Hun." She says, taking off her glasses.

I nod my head.

"All this with your Grandpa just got to me and it's hard for me to handle."

"It's ok Gammy I understand. But, I'm here for you, you can talk to me, you don't have to ignore me." I say.

She smiles slightly, "Oh I'm sorry sweetie." She says, reaching over the table and hugging me.

I hug her tightly.

"We'll get through it together." I say.

"I know." She rubs my back, "My sweet grand babys such a strong women."

I smile, pulling away from her, "I learn from the best."

She smiles at me, sitting back in her seat.

"How was work?" She ask, flipping through papers again.

"It was good, working with Tessa is fun." I say.

"Well that's good." She says, looking up smiling at me, "Now go wash up and head off to bed its late," she says, with a smile.
