I wake up, sitting up quickly, and looking around frantically, as my phone rings beside me. I struggle trying to untangle myself from my blankets, when I slip off my bed in the bundle of my blankets and land on the floor with a thud.
I grunt, pushing myself up off the floor and grabbing my phone.
Jake- "How'd the outing go?"
I look up at the top of my phone, reading the time. This boy woke me up at 8:30 on a Sunday morning really? I groan, standing up off the floor.
I throw my phone back down on my nightstand not even bothering answering Jake. I pick up my ball of blankets and throw them back on my bed. I drag my legs to my bathroom, washing up and using the bathroom. I walk out, catching myself in my body mirror.
I take in my appearance as I stare at myself in bewilderment. I was still in the same clothes as last night but they where a bit wrinkled. My hair was a big curly frizz ball and my glasses had a few smudges from where I fell asleep with them on, my face was all red and puffy for no apparent reasons and was starting to break out. Screw Mother Nature. And I only had one sock on.
I look like I had been hit by a bus.
Repeatedly.
I straighten out my glasses and shrug at myself.
I leave the mirror, opening my door and walking down the stairs. As I got closer to the bottom floor, I hear Gammy laughing. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as my feet hit the cold wood floors. I walk slowly to the kitchen as I hear a males voice. I freeze my eyes widening, I quickly regain my composure and continuing walking to the kitchen. I stop in the doorway of the kitchen, closing my eyes as I yawn, stretching my arms above my head. I quickly put my arms down as the cold air hits my belly where my shirt lifted.
I hear my Gammy giggle and I open my eyes, "Good Morning darling." My Gammy greats me with a sweet smile.
"Morning Gammy." I say, returning the same smile.
I look over smiling at Clayton. WAIT CLAYTONS IN MY KITCHEN! I do a double take, whipping my head in his direction, my eyes wide. He chuckles.
I point at him, looking at my Gammy, "Gams what's he doing here?" I ask, rudely.
She gasp at my tone, "Samantha Renee Anderson, do not use that tone with me." She says, sternly.
I stop pointing at him, letting my arm drop to my side as my cheeks tint pick in shame, "Sorry." I mumble.
"He stopped by asking for you and seeing as you where asleep, I let him in getting the young man some coffee." She says, as she wipes the counters.
I smile at Gammy and turn to Clayton letting my smile fade, "What brings you by Clayton?" I manage to ask in the nicest way possible.
He cheekily smiles at me, "Well I can't believe you forgot," he fake gasp and I roll my eyes, "Tutoring Samantha?"
My mouth forms into and 'O' shape as I remember him telling me he was coming by today.
"Samantha you need tutoring? Is all the stuff that's been going on affecting you that bad." My Gammy ask, with concern.
"Oh no, Samantha's tutoring me, she's good with chemistry." Clayton says to my Gammy, with a bright smile.
My Gammy smiles, "She's a smart young lady." She says, looking at me.
I smile at her as I grab a cup out of the cupboard.
Little did she know he was making a smart remark, and not about the chemistry she was thinking.
She takes the cup from me, pouring me some orange juice and handing it back to me. I mumble a thank you and she smiles.
