Take a deep breath
How I wish I could just swallow the words and make them true completely as I kept repeating the sentence inside my head, hoping that it would work on something to calm my nerves.
I ignored the ringing in my ears at the sight of school in front of me. I never thought there would come a day where I would dread going to school.
It took every ounce of strength I have to step inside the gates.
I looked around and it surprises me that everything was still ironically the same. Everyone was going on their business, chatting with their friends, gossiping about some celebrity or whatever they were doing. It was like the weekend had been bad dream.
Well that Saturday that is.
I can do this
I squared my shoulders trying to look just how I am as always. I walked on the grounds, inside the hallway and inside my classroom not looking at anyone. It was like the time I was avoiding Chanyeol. My nerves were shot.
I was about to sit down when I caught eye on one of the girls inside the room. I realized with a start that she was at the bonfire last Saturday. She's one of the cheerleaders. She looked at me with that hard glare but she wasn't say anything.
I was flustered at the anger in her eyes. What she could be angry about me? Have I really ruined their game? Is that why she's angry with me?
"Penny for your thoughts?" said Juli suddenly behind me, startling me so much I almost drop my bag to the ground.
Heejun rolled her eyes and sat down in front of me.
I looked at the girl again but she wasn't looking anymore. I looked down, troubled. I hoped I'd just mistaken her stare as something.
"This class better not bored me to death" Heejun started, waiting for Juli and me to sit down.
"Then go Heejun, you don't have class for this morning." Juli said looking over at her with spite.
Heejun smirked. "Well you're not my mom so zip it up."
I stared at the both of them feeling somewhat warm at their sudden presence. I smiled despite the loud nervous pounding of my heart. At least amidst all the trouble coming on me, I still got these two girls by my side.
"So how's your Sunday lazing around?" Heejun asked, while she pulled out her notebook and her pen from her bag.
They looked at me waiting for my answer.
"Well, I got out with Chnayeol yesterday." I shrugged, getting my notebook on my bag as well.
Juli whipped her head in my direction abruptly. We looked at each other for a moment.
"Chanyeol took you out." She deadpans.
"Not really... he just... took me in a place." I thread carefully, remembering my promise to Chanyeol to never say anything about his secret place.
"A place?" Heejun asked mouth agape.
I looked at the both of them in confusion. "What are you both thinking? He took me out like somewhere. We hike."
Their shoulders both sag.
"Oh" Juli said before looking down at her notes again to check something.
"What's that about?" I asked suspiciously.
"What what's about?" Heejun asked airily. She took the highlighter from Juli's desk.
