Elena never would have thought that a dragon could learn a language-by EATING IT! That would've made French class so much easier! She couldn't help it, she HAD to experiment. When Elena woke up the next day she immediately searched through her bookcase to find what she was looking for-a Japanese dictionary. This book converted English words to their Japanese translations so it was perfect! As Elena walked downstairs with her book she realized something was off. "Where's Dad?" she asked, "What is a...dad?" her dragon responded. "Nevermind," she concluded. "Are you hungry?" Elena couldn't help but sound mischievous. "Yes, I've been waiting for you to make some. Earth food is a little...complicated," he sounded really proud of himself when he said that big word-complicated. "Okay, so what do you want?"
"To go home,"
"Uh...I meant for breakfast,"
"Oh," his voice reflected his utter disappointment. (A/N: Poor guy! This sentence came off really dramatic..) "I'll make pancakes! Oh, you are going to LOVE pancakes!" Elena desperately attempted to lighten the mood. He only nodded in response, then suddenly the front door slammed open. "Dad! Aren't you supposed to be working?!"
"About that..," he sheepishly grinned, "got caught." "What do you mean?" her dragon inquired. "Some neighbors heard the explosions then called the police, they think we're either terrorists-in-training or we're some bunch of crazy and intense pyromaniacs," he chuckled at that remark. "So? What now?" Elena was pacing around the kitchen by now. "Education!" he exclaimed. "What?" Elena and her dragon said in unison. "Field trip, you silly billies!" by now the duo was completely lost with this plan. "What's a-" Adbjorn started, "Only the best thing ever!"her dad shouted. "Dad, shouldn't you be sad that you lost your job? Also where on earth are we going to get the kind of money to go on vacation?" "It was just a temporary job anyways Lena, also we don't need money where we're going!" "Where is this magical land of no currency, dearest father?" Elena sarcastically commented. "Where good ol' Dragon Boy can feel at home, of course!" he said. "Home?" Adbjorn was shocked...he could meet his family and wouldn't have to hide his true self. "Come along comrades! We shall venture forth into our homeland!" he shouted, rather majestically too. Her father laughed SO hard at that and Elena realized her pancakes were burning...there was no way that this trip would EVER be "educational".
