Just as Elena flipped the page and looked over the words the door slammed open. It must be Cole again, she thought. Footsteps echoed through the house and they made their way to the basement door. How do they know that I'm in the basement? I don't think this is Cole...but as that thought entered her mind a figure stood before her. A black cloak covered their face and they were much taller than Elena. "W-Who are you?" Elena questioned, then the hooded figure lunged at her and pinned her to the ground but then everything went black.
When Elena woke up she was in an empty, white room. She was tied to a chair by a thick rope and her hands and feet were tied to the chair's legs. "W-What?!" Elena wiggled and squirmed. "Awake already?" a voice echoed out of nowhere-but it sounded...friendly? "Where a-am I?" she asked. "You really need to fix that stuttering problem of yours. Anyways...you should stop struggling, it would help a lot because you're never going to leave so why bother right?" a chuckle escaped her captor. "Did you kill my father and shoot Areagore's former king or are you just a creepy kidnapper?" "It sounds so bad when you put it like that!"Elena searched for any sign as to who the voice was coming from but eventually gave up, "You didn't answer the question." "Why should I? I'm the one who captured you, therefore you don't have the right to be asking questions anyway!" he quickly responded. Elena felt like she was going to cry, "A-am I really never going to l-leave?" "What did I say about stuttering? You were getting way too close to finding me...you were spewing out clues and if I left you alone you definitely would've caught me." he sounded a little irritated. "What about the others? They know more than I do...I was holding them back." Elena sniffled. "No more questions." her kidnapper's tone became stern and she heard a microphone click, so he was talking over an intercom?
She shuffled her foot around and tried to loosen the knot. It was already night and the lights were turned off so the room was pitch black. That was when she heard a click-a door! "Hello? Help! H-help me please! I'm tied up please just-" then the lights flickered on. "Shut up already, it's still me." it was the same voice from the intercom. "Why are you here? Now I've seen you, when I leave I can just tell people who you-" "I said shut up, I came because I thought you were asleep and you won't be leaving." he made his way in front of Elena. "But why? There's nothing you can do in here." she was certainly confused. He shook his head, "Sleep." "Huh? You don't have a bed?" He looked away, "I'll just...come back later...when you're asleep." Then he left her alone in the room again but she was now trying to memorize his features, white hair...red eyes, no green? Dang it.
Elena didn't sleep easily that night and she found herself waking up in the middle of the night a lot. Suddenly he walked in again, his eyes looked heavy and she could tell he didn't sleep at all. White hair, one green eye, one-"Why didn't you sleep?" He flicked her against her forehead. "Hey! Well it's kind of hard to sleep when you're tied up and in a stranger's house." He nodded, "Okay from now on you'll be untied but the door will still be locked...don't try anything funny or you'll be tied up again immediately, okay?" Elena quickly nodded, "Can you give me some puzzles or coloring books to pass the time?" He stared at her, "What's a c-calouri...c-couloreeng book?" "It's an Earth thing..." he then untied her and left the room again. Oh yeah, he couldn't sleep because I wasn't asleep yet...oops!Maybe I should do that again to tire him out, then I can escape!!!
She started dancing around the small room, "I'M SO GLAD I CAN MOOOOOVE!!! My friggin' feet fell asleep...so did my hands, oh and my-" "Please, please shut up!" her kidnapper's voice boomed through the room. "Oh yeah...sorry it won't happen again, I promise!" she chirped, she was so happy that she could move again! She then got bored and sat against the wall. "Elena? What's a coulareeng...c-coloareeng book anyways?" Elena quickly perked up, "Oh they're great! Coloring books are like these books filled with drawings that you fill in yourself! And there's crayons and colored pencils that you can use, those are like pencils but...well, colored!" "Uh-huh..."he responded. "I'm actually *yawn* kind of...tired, so I'm gonna sleep okay?"Elena said. "Finally," he muttered.
As Elena was napping she heard a loud grumble and woke up. She opened her eyes and was greeted by a large white dragon that was sleeping right next to her. She covered her mouth and tried not to scream. The dragon opened one eye once it heard Elena struggling then it went out in a white explosion and out came-her kidnapper?! "AAAAAAAAH!!!!!"she yelled. "Ah god, I thought you were asleep...that was so dumb of me.." he mumbled. "Why didn't you t-tell me that y-you w-were a dragon?!" then she realized his eyes were red and he still had his white horns. "Y-you're just like Cole..." Elena walked up to him and he stiffened, "Uhh...I think I'll go now.." "No, you need to sleep. My dragon had the same problem...I don't mind, I'm glad that I know now. Please, just rest." He nodded and sat next to Elena back on the wall. "It just makes me uncomfortable, can I wait until you're asleep?" he asked. "Mhmm!" Elena confirmed.
Once she woke up, Elena realized that her kidnapper wasn't awake yet. She slowly got up and made her way to the door. Elena tugged and yanked at the doorknob only to find that it was still locked. There has to be a spell for this...she thought, then she remembered something that she found in 'The Forgotten Mage's Diary'. Elena whispered,"Closerne liftae ferna." Then she opened the door and was finally free.
